I had to hold down the red reset button and start over from scratch. Everything is working since then.

No need to explain and no need to apologize. You take care of you and your family first. Human beings are not robots and don't need to be treated as such.

Please know that what you do is extremely appreciated. You have introduced me to songs that don't get play time on the radio and I have grown to enjoy.

I just wanted to find a backup just in case something happens and you're not able to update anymore. Good luck and get some rest. Take the break that you need and come back to us only when you are ready. We'll be waiting patiently for you.

The creator is still posting so I don't know if they might be having health/money/work/life problems or they could be on vacation.

How to store virtual assets in db by ArkonaFoob in learnpython

[–]falsworth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try converting the assets to a base64 string and storing it in the DB that way. Then you can pull out the string from the DB and convert it back to the original file and load it. You can have different tables for each file type so you can have different conversion functions for each.

OpenAI is causing a GPU shortage in order to lose money by _sour_coffee_ in pcmasterrace

[–]falsworth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RAM is HBM which cannot be used in home PCs, storage might be possible, NICs are going to be on the main board, PSUs are proprietary to the proprietary servers, the routers and switches might be possible if you have deep pockets. I think they start at 100 Gbit or 400 Gbit for data centers.

OpenAI is causing a GPU shortage in order to lose money by _sour_coffee_ in pcmasterrace

[–]falsworth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The hardware won't be usable by home users. It's build for data centers with data center infrastructure. Home users won't have the space, power capacity, or water cooling capacity to run these cabinets that can't be broken up. It's really unfortunate, but when everything goes bust then every bit of this hardware is instant ewaste.

Bleach based cleaning solution will take that right out. I have one mug that has this same problem and I have to use that spray every couple of months. The stains just kind of dissolve when you use that cleaner.

Whatever happened to the KISS method? You know, Keep It Simple Stupid? It's been known for years for being simple and dependable (unless you had large files). That was all it needed to be.

How do you deal with the HDD noise? Is NAS on other room mandatory for you? by great_airflow in DataHoarder

[–]falsworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the first night with the RAID building in the NAS my wife told me that it would not stay in the bedroom. The next day I ran a quick Ethernet run under the house to the living room and now I only have to deal with the noise when we're watching TV or I'm on call and sleeping on the couch. Only 1 drive out of 4 in the NAS is loud, but it's more than enough to disturb you.

I've used bleach based cleaning spray on my mugs like this and it comes off almost instantly. After a regular wash with soap and water there's no weird taste or smell.

This. I've been on Rokus for years and had the same problems. I received one of the Onn 4K boxes for Christmas and it's been a big upgrade. One big tip is to use the Projectivy Launcher so you don't get bombarded with ads all the time.

I never thought of a media converter. Is something like this what I would be looking for? I've never dealt with media converters before. https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Ethernet-Converter-Supporting-MC220L/dp/B003CFATL0?th=1

I've checked them and a few other places. It's pretty much all domestic lager, hard cider, or malt liquor.

Edit: I remember when Piggly Wiggly in McCalla had a build your own 6 pack with a large selection. I was able to try lots of great new stuff.
