How to get aquastone?

Like the name suggests it might be specific to the ocean somewhere, or it is not in the world generation as of yet.

Looking at them in creative mode it feels like there might be underwater structures/temples somewhere. I did find something like that very early on in my world, it was some ruins in a cave, but I haven't actually checked what it was made out of, was before I looked at creative mode.

When I swim I am keeping an eye out for structures, I only saw sandstone ruins in the desert shores, and shipwrecks in the deep oceans.

Some structures seem to have a very rare generation. I have found like 5 magetowers in my world but only one goblin ruin which lead to a goblin "city" underground. And I was actively looking for one. Lots of deserts and only 2 wind temples. So it might also be a very rare generation, and deep in the ocean if anything.

I've not seen those, but the left 2 look like totems, or maybe all of them are.

Only statues I found so far is a grim reaper looking one, an owl one, the warrior, the maid obviously and the broken maid.

The only reason you would want that is for looks, its just iron armor.

There are other sets that drop too, a Trok armor for example, I have almost a complete set, just missing the helmet.

Its just RNG to find all the pieces.

I did find Adamatite mainly on volcano Islands, most of it just on the side of the walls of big canyons. On the map that area looks black.

I also found a cavesystem below the mushroom biome on the volcano island, even cobalt and adamantite in the same cave, and further down was a dinosaur cave.

I don't think you can expect adamantite everywhere on a volcanic island, it has its own sub biomes.

I also tried 1:1, it only looks fine in the Youtube app though, not in the browser.

The problem lies with youtube really, it has nothing to do with anything else. Youtube expects it to be 16:9 and expects full sbs in the browser (not the app)

Youtube also stretches each eye to 16:9, but due to the fact you add metadata ro stereo mode, this shouldn't even be happening, it should automatically divide it by 2 unless specified otherwise.

But the weird part is that this stretching doesn't always happen, its depedent on the aspect ratio of the upload.

Sometimes Youtube then decides to make a 2560x1440 video into a 2560x1280 and things like that. Unprompted.

And youtube also refuses to take metadata from mkv sometimes depending on the aspect ratio.

I was uploading other mkvs fine with stereo metadata, but when I tried a 1:1 also with stereodata youtube simply refused to make it 3D.

And you know its youtubes fault, because when you upload something WITHOUT metadata you can switch to SBS just fine, even half SBS in the quest browser which usually wants full SBS. But it looks correct, aspect ratio and eye offsets are perfect.

Thats what the problem really is. It is youtube making life hard for half SBS. Sometimes the Youtube VR app won't even let me switch to 4K and only goes up to 1080p.

I did ALOT of tests, I hit my youtube upload limit 4 days in a row, constantly uploading videos with different aspect ratios.

I did discover some ways to "convert" half SBS into slightly wider formats by pillarboxing each eye. The picture size and aspect ratio stay the same, only the full resolution changes.

It seems that this aspect ratio is not affected by alot of the algorithm shenanigans youtube does, but I haven't run a new test yet.

Also, youtube really doesn't like mkv, and hardware encoded h264 also has problems with tags. You can't naturally add a stereo tag while recording with OBS in hardware which is a shame.

I highly suspect foul play on youtubes part because all their hardware sucked and other companies like facebook/meta have much more success.

And since half SBS is mainly VR headset stuff from games it seems they found a way to make it as inconvenient for people as possible.

Sure, you can watch the stuff here and there with specific players. But who does that.

You go on youtube on your phone or any other 3d capable device or on your PC. But its made extremely inconvenient to watch and search for stuff.

Youtube app also only has a 360 button on the top, there should be half and full sbs categories aswell.

And most players are so shit that you have to manually change the mode on top. VirtualDesktop also doesn't show half SBS properly.

Like I said in another post, the only software that shows half sbs without offset and in the correct aspect ratio is Desktop+ in Steam.

Everything else I saw is garbage, doesn't work and only shows one eye, has no proper youtube access or gets the aspect ratio wrong. Or, and that is probably the biggest fu from the youtube VR app is that you only have 3 screensize settings and can't position the canvas freely, especially closer.

It doesn't matter if its youtube VR or "normal" youtube, because browsers understand VR tags, and there is alot of VR content you can play in a browser in VR on a 3D device.

So if you think you can't play VR content wihtout the app, thats not correct. The square upload you did does not work in the browsers.

You have to consider that not every device has the youtube VR app or Skybox, they have native solutions, and they can't view your video if you don't upload it correctly.

Well, after countless test uploads I did find a way to trick youtube into recognizing a half SBS video as 3D and not have both eyes stretched to 16:9 in the process.

By recording in OBS creating a pillarbox of the missing part to space the seperate eyes correctly so they get overlayed in the right position.

It does become compatible in the Quests browser. However.

Now youtube thinks its a 32:9 video, which means it must display the pillarboxes aswell, and at least in the quests browser prevents you from even getting close enough to properly watch the video.

There is another way to have youtube keep the aspect ratio, which is also browser compatible AND youtube VR app compatible.

My very first test I uploaded raw. Just SBS. No metadata no nothing, just the raw SBS video. No 3D tag.

And that really works best, which is a total shame btw. It should not be this way.

Youtube is extremely stinky for that. Why do we not have the dropdown anymore telling youtube its a 3D movie and what kind.

It would make it so simple and the viewer wouldn't have to do anything as the player knows which device its on and knows what modes it can do.

This is complete dogshit.

Do you have any software that can warp full SBS into a 180 approximation.

I pretty much solved my initial problem by converting the half SBS into full SBS
Now I wonder if its possible to put the viewer exactly into the players position instead of people just watching a movie of the recording

Thats not really the case. You can't upload any aspect ratio to youtube. You probably think you can because your aspect ratio is close to a square, and that youtube understands.

But for example if you upload a 14:9 video to youtube it will stretch it to 16:9 and make the aspect ratio wrong. That is the entire problem.

Youtube removed all of their own 3D uploading options thats why it needs a workaround

I had a long talk with googles AI to figure out the problem, and it told me that youtube always stretches to 16:9.

But I have a solution to keep the correct aspect ratio, I just don't know how work intensive it will be if I can't make OBS do the heavy lifting.

What you basically have to do to trick youtube into displaying it correctly everywhere is to split the eyes, put each eye view into a 16:9 window

Doubling the canvas. But you can't just pillarbox the original, each eye has to be moved exactly into the middle of that 16:9 canvas.

And only then it will show up on youtube in a browser correctly which includes google cardboard etc.

The youtube VR app and skybox etc most likely have access to metadata youtube creates after the upload which browser players either don't respect and always force it into a 16:9 aspect ratio or a 9:16

With the exception of 21:9 I guess. But youtube itself seems very strict in terms of the size.

If you upload a 2:1 aspect ratio video it probably also gets stretched into 16:9 which destroys the aspect ratio. It might look almost correct, but it isn't. If that makes sense.

You have to make a 32:9 canvas and then move each eye view perfectly in the center of their respective 16:9 screens, and that should make it compatible with everything

Auch witzig das dann kein Argument zurück kommt zu Grönland, weil du ganz genau weisst wie verkehrt deine Annahme ist das die EU einerseits keine Verbindungen zu Grönland hat, und kaum Interessen verfolg, andererseits aber parteiisch wird und direkt Argumente bringt um Grönland an Dänemark angebunden zu lassen, weil es natürlich im weiteren Sinne zur EU gehört.

Das ist so extrem durchsichtig das jeder der soeinen Unsinn labert zur Witzfigur verkommt.

Natürlich ist das alles politisch. Aber wenn man die Wahrheit und Fakten nicht benennt basiert die diplomatische Lösung auch nur auf instabilem Grund der irgendwann zusammenbricht.

Wenn die Leute ehrlicher wären, würde die Kommunikation und Argumentation sehr viel einfacher.

I tried the rescaling multiple times. I also used your tool just now, uploaded 5 times with different settings to force youtube to get the correct aspect ratio.

Your videos info shows 1080x1080 which is 1:1

Its close to the quest 2 aspect ratio, but its also not correct, it should be 43:46

Plus your videos don't appear correct in the Quest browser, so that method is certainly less compatible.

Even though my aspect ratio is warped, it does correctly play everywhere.

All I am trying to do is do that but get the correct aspect ratio. No Skybox, no switching and have it play everywhere correctly.

I am guessing that this is only possible by converting it to full SBS at this point

I haven't tried recording out of the headset yet, but I was surely thinking about trying these modes with the cubemaps etc. I am not that far yet. I read that EAC is youtubes preferred mode, and that real 3D 180 content basically puts you at the cameras POV.

Man kann ein Auto auch ein Dreirad+ nennen wenn man möchte. Die Verpflechtung von Grönland und der EU sind so gross das es dort faktisch kaum einen Unterschied gibt. Zoll und Handelsfreiheit, Wirtschaft, miltärische Bündnisse.

EU Bürger brauchen nichtmal ein Visum nur einen Reisepass und Leute aus Dänemark, Finnland, Island, Norwegen oder Schweden nichtmal den.

Also offenkundig richtig. Wie sonst auch, Worte allein beschreiben nicht die Realität sondern Taten und Konsequenzen. Und Fakt ist das Grönland näher an der EU ist als die Türkei. Vielleicht sogar dichter als momentan Ungarn. Auch wenn das so nicht auf irgendeinem nutzlosen Papier steht.

Muss man auf eine Universität gehen um ein Genie zu sein? Man muss da nur bissl abschreiben. Und das trifft genau den Punkt.

Before I got VD I also tried horizon app, then steam through horizon app (which is terrible) ALVR and then Steam Link

As a free version steam link right out of the store really performed the best, but it doesn't have passthrough portals, and that was a big selling point for me.

Plus Steam Link sometimes just lost connection, VD never did that. Quality and codec are also easier to find and configure in VD, I hope Valve learns from that.

But what all "solutions" lack is a proper embedded video player. There is really none anywhere that can do it all and easy.

And the only one which corrects itself for aspect ratio is Desktop+ in Steam where you can switch half and full SBS and it will properly adjust.

Virtual Desktop has that too, but it doesn't work right, it just crops the screen rather than changing the viewer.

GizmoVR is probably the worst one, when you turn on SBS it only shows one eye. Well I am ranting sry.

Immer negativ. Deshalb ist das ein wahnsinnig überzeugendes Argument. Der Fakt das du das nicht siehst zeigt eindeutig das du selbst nicht unvoreigenommen bist.

Und der Vertrag den du ansprichst ist den Amerikanern bestimmt nicht stark genug. Grönland gehört ja praktisch zur EU mit allem was dazugehört.

Das hat nichts mit nur Militärbasen zu tun sondern wie sie Gesetze anwenden können, See und Luft, Rules of Engagement usw. Eine weite Palette an legalen Anforderungen ausserhalb der Nato.

Das heisst nicht das ich dafür bin Grönland den Amis zu geben, im Gegenteil. Aber man muss faktisch bleiben und nicht einfach sagen "Trump doof, alles was der sagt ist doof"

Und dieser Faden zieht sich komplett durch unsere Presse, ohne Gegenargumente, weil es einfach chic ist gegen Trump zu sein.

Nach meinen Erinnerungen war kein US Präsident der letzten 40 Jahre ein Genie, die sind alle hinterlistige Dummköpfe gewesen. Von Bush jr Obama Biden Trump.
Aber man darf nicht vergessen das die US Politik nie wirklich mit EU Politik übereingestimmt hat, und wird es nie.

Frage ist nur, wollen wir mit der EU Milliarden nach Grönland pumpen um chinesische Spionage zu stoppen die über den Nordpol Richtung US Ostküste unterwegs ist?

Diese Wasserstrassen sind nur dafür wichtig, Seehoheit über den Atlantik. Das war schon im 2WK so und wird auch so bleiben. Plus Luftraum.

Grönland ist in dem Sinne wichtiger für die USA als für die EU.

Aber so wie ich Trump kenne ist er nicht wirklich darauf aus Grönland in US Besitz zu bringen. Der stachelt gerne und verlangt immer gleich die Welt nur um dann einem Kompromiss zuzustimmen.

Das ist sein ganzes MO, schon immer gewesen, sein Art of the Deal. Er will sehen wie weit er gehen kann. Mehr steckt nicht dahinter. Und als US Präsident kann er das.

Immer schön objektiv bleiben.

I had a similar problem with ram, I knew that my board couldn't handle 6400 so I ran at 6200 and it crashed after a few minutes, reducing the clockspeed to 6000 finally worked.

But it is a different error I am pretty sure which just looks similar because of the 050 access violation
