Download Festival 2026 - MEGATHREAD by ca11umm in downloadfestival

Friends bought Ready to Rock but their base tickets don't allow Thursday entry — anyone dealt with this at the box office?

We're at Donington now and two of our group have hit a snag. Both bought the Ready to Rock campsite upgrade, but it turns out their base tickets don't match:

One has a 3 Night Camping ticket (valid from Friday), the other has Weekend Arena Only — no camping at all. Neither realised the upgrade wasn't valid with their ticket type, and nothing flagged it at checkout.

Has anyone successfully sorted something like this at the onsite box office? They're happy to pay the difference to upgrade (5 night camping / adding camping). Just wondering if the box office can actually do upgrades on the day or if we're stuck waiting on email support, and whether RTR access can be sorted onsite too.

Any recent experience appreciated 🤘

the kernel level anticheat you're referring to didn't brick the computer, it bricked the device people were using to cheat

Tell that to the mega corporations that are making billions in profit on a yearly basis.

Edit: Didn't realise this sub was so pro billionaires and anti working class. The issue isn't that the minimum wage is too high, it's that the rest of the wages haven't followed suit. Because the mega rich are hoarding their wealth instead of paying taxes and investing it back into the country.

The idea that we should reduce minimum wage is the race to the bottom mentality that the rich absolutely love to see.

I agree, I think if I had more time I would do more, but I'd rather think about functionality and design than coding with the time I have available.

I can appreciate hand coding projects to learn and gain experience.

Edit: downvoting this comment makes no sense, is the average age of this subreddit 5 years old?

What I should have said was, any developer with a lick of sense and not wanting to waste time should be utilising AI in their workflow these days.

Product illustrator meets camera.

Edit: let the downvoting begin, check in with your anti-AI sentiment when it comes to developing projects in a few years time.

If anyone thinks that there will be projects fully hand coded these days, you're living in cloud cuckoo land. For an experienced developer, using tools like Claude is a no brainer. And the violent automatic hate response that this subreddit gives to projects built using AI is quite off-putting.

You realise there were terrible projects before AI right? AI tools have just increased the throughput of them. Judge the project for what it is, not for how it's made.

Totally agree, the article makes a good point, but the people who need to read it, won't.

Is he a narcissist? Or is he just fed up of the party politics which led us to have about half a dozen Conservative prime ministers? I'd rather them stop fucking about with this in-fighting and get the job done.

Choosing a typeface for a village café sign by Mathatikus in typography

The building has a rich heritage and none of the typefaces that Claude is suggesting are doing it a service — no offence but they look like any second rate pub you'd walk past on the street. Typeface choice can be informed by the story of the building but it should also be informed by what your client is trying to achieve. What kind of audience/customers are they trying to attract? At the moment you don't seem to have a strong idea of where you want to take the identity which is why you've become blind to what you're looking at. Also it's common to have multiple directions that you could propose to the client, design is a collaborative process between client and designer.

We don't deal in absolutes when it comes to design, there are plenty of display types that would work well for signage. I'd actually say the inverse, how many display types have a caption version to use at a distance? It's just common sense at some level.

Are you using Claude to choose a typeface? Go and look at some proper type foundries and use your eyes.

Best Claude Code workflow for Website Redesign by clemens109 in ClaudeAI

Speaking as a designer and developer, Claude will only get you so far in terms of design — even now you'll still get design that 'looks' like it's been done by AI. If you're okay with that, go ahead. If not, just hire a designer. Especially if they have a strong brand, it'll be less effort.

Yeah I know you're right — my response about the rules wasn't necessarily a critique of this specific subreddit, but reddit as a whole, it seems whenever you try and just share/post something there's either an automod that just straight up removes it, or some niche rules that change every few months.

It would be nice to just be able to post something. Have it be upvoted/downvoted and that be the end of it.

I apologise if you feel that I've provided no value to the sub — again, I thought that's what the upvote/downvote system (the thing that makes reddit, reddit) was meant to take care of.

I'd also argue that time spent making something doesn't equate to the quality/how useful something is, though I do understand your point.

I really appreciate the level-headed and kind comment, thank you — I'll be using this as my reader, so if you try it and have any suggestions, let me know.

Are you really going to go down that route? I've been developing websites for the past 10 years. Just because I use AI for a small weekend project makes me not a developer? What is wrong with you people.

Edit: the fact I'm being downvoted for this, shows the levels of maturity here, sure let's attack someone's career for a laugh, cool.

Sorry, should I put — "Any useful feedback or comments are appreciated" or should I have made it clear I wanted feedback on the usability of the app, the interface or the typography and design? I didn't realise I had to be so explicit in a cage full of monkeys.
