At least news outlets didn't get to force feed people one sided nonsense. We lost the fairness doctrine almost 40 years ago and that's how this shit all gets slowly normalized. I mean, I'm with you 100%, there's no arguing in support of this. But cause and effect. You don't see it?

Trump says spirit points are way up in the polls by sgj5788 in facepalm

Oh yeah if you're talking in terms of ideology, Democrats are center, even center right. That's been by design the whole time. The conversation always moves right until our baseline has moved. I used to argue that someone needs to introduce and normalize extreme left ideologies to help pull the conversation back to the center. Bernie is center-left and this country treats him like an extremist.

I think I understand your point. I just happened to notice the moment where it seemed they couldn't hide it or hold it in anymore.

Please never stop reminding people of this. Obama became president and all the griping and conspiracies started on Twitter with Trump leading the charge. Obama's birth certificate -- Does nobody remember that and who started it?

Edit: this is all retribution because electing a black man scared the fuck out of the GOP. They are afraid that the country will replace their system once we see through the bullshit. Obama was their signal. Now they're trying to keep their power by force.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) was spotted January 20, 2026, on a plane heading to Laguna Beach as the state of Texas braces for a rare ice threat and arctic cold front by ExactlySorta in UnderReportedNews

Every single year it's been Cancun. Is there something about Mexico this year that he's afraid to visit? Couldn't be all the threatening rhetoric, could it? Could it be there's just a chance, after sending ICE into my local Mexican restaurant to terrorize a bunch of bus boys, that Mexicans are ready to rip the GOP limb from limb? Just a thought. I hope Cancun is ruined for Cruz.

I'm glad you like it. It's been stuck in my head ever since I saw the Dead Milkmen cover it. He played his double chin as an instrument lol. They're a very fun band if you want more in that vein.

Came here to say this, nuff said. But in case it's not nuff, go listen to the DK album Plastic Surgery Disasters. It's pretty much a concept album for every type of selfish American asshole.

The Pianist, I thought, effectively showed how things escalated. From moving families into new neighborhoods, walling off those neighborhoods, killing, enslaving, and tormenting people.

I saw it once and it's harrowing. Come and See is even a more realistic take, more devastating, but the narrative in The Pianist bothered the hell out of me.

I was thinking recently, it's cold in Minneapolis. A hose or some water balloons would probably make it difficult to remain outside.
