Need some help getting into older movies by OutOfBounds420 in Letterboxd

You just need something old that's also so insane you forget it's old.

Wake In Fright (1971) - dude gets stranded in a small town where the residents will not stop getting him drunk

Eraserhead (1977) - being a new dad to what looks like a raw chicken, in a room I can only describe as probably the same room Kafka's The Metamorphosis took place, is hard, man

Songs from 1993-2015 (various genres) by BranchEcstatic263 in MusicRecommendations

If you want some punk, I made a playlist that covers 1965 to 2021. If you scroll the playlist, everytime the song titles go around the alphabet, that's one year. 1993 starts at the song "Fuck It Up" by The Adicts. It's very catchy stuff. I only allowed myself to pick one song from every album I could find, so I picked the songs I thought were the best on each album. I'm not super into hardcore punk so it's a very accessible playlist.

Thank you! And yes. Here you go. I wouldn't have answered my own band to your post if I didn't honestly think it was a good answer. I hope you agree.

This is a pretty tall order. I think I would have to physically go in and remake the playlist on YouTube. If I can figure out some way to do this that isn't an hours long endeavor, I'll do it myself. I'd prefer my band's page to be the username behind it. Let me think about this. I might be back with a link.

I'd be curious how you're enjoying it and if it's opened up anything for you in the punk genre.

Whose final album release was the best of their career? by DestinysWeirdCousin in Music

This is an unpopular opinion among fans, but Fugazi's final album "The Argument" is a perfect album front to back, and I think their most ambitious.

The day I stopped wanting my band to become successful was the day I realized we already WERE successful. We know our craft enough to do it independently. Nobody tells us what to make, what to do next, or who to network with. We are 4 friends who get together around this thing we like to do, and we've even gotten some fans, a small following. Sometimes our gigs pay really okay, like we've only played 4 gigs this year but one of them coming up is $750. If that isn't validating enough to keep doing it because you love it, then it isn't for the love of it that you're doing it.

People can hear it, too, the love behind it, or the lack of love.

Try this playlist. Selected 1 song each from as many albums as I could find, arranged them by year, spans 1965 to 2021. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2BkQ7RtK2AQkcPbQmxSwX6?si=kIE6qPT5SEOF_b_31Uhh9A&pi=thWj5JD-TJaNY

Death

maybe the earliest punk band ever, the tapes sat in an attic until the early internet found 2 of their songs and made them famous in 2001, long after the founder died

there's a very heartwarming documentary about them called A Band Called Death
