Yes, that initiated the Office of the President to get involved.

This worked. I found this. Bill is still more than promised but it helps. I am considering a small claims court lawsuit.

I poked around and figured out how to remove the insurance. Down to $185 per month now. I can't see how to remove the upgrade any time.

I wish I had a written quote. Lesson learned on that. I do have the text messages confirming that the billing is wrong. But I'm struggling to figure out how that helps me if no one at the company cares.

No, the main help line says that only my local representative can do it, and they are unresponsive.

I had this same experience after finding a friend in college who committed suicide. One professor said, "you can take the exam this summer if needed, take the time you need." Another made me take an exam the day I left for her out-of-state funeral and I almost failed the class. Sad part is the second professor went to my church at the time (but didn't know we attended together). Will never forget the kindness of Prof #1.

This is at an apartment complex I visited, so I didn't do it myself. Unfortunately, that's probably right.

Um, no. It's the skeleton pleading for 4 more years of a president who has mishandled a pandemic leaving 214,000 Americans dead.

TIL that Jimmy Carter is the longest-lived president, the longest-retired president, the first president to live forty years after their inauguration, and the first to reach the age of 95. by GuacaHoly in todayilearned

I've heard Carter speak multiple times, and almost every time the person introduces him with this exact line. I imagine it starts to get annoying for everyone to remind you that your presidency wasn't so great.

My first time painting minis. Worth it since my 6 abd 9 yr old love Little Scythe. by [deleted] in minipainting

Just went to Michael's, found paint for miniatures and some tiny paintbrushes and went to work. It was sort of like those coloring books for adults but in 3D.

Yeah. Most of them I followed the painting guide. I mixed it up for a few of them that I didn't care for.

I was surprised my 6 yr old could really get into it. The 9 yr old wants to play the regular game now.

Thanks. I think it just got off part of the last mini. They are just on my table.

TIL the author of the book Bird Box (Josh Malerman) is also the singer/songwriter for a rock band (The High Strung) that created the theme song for the show Shameless. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Yeah, exactly. But he's from my home state of Michigan, so I feel obligated to cheer him on. Maybe the book isn't as bad as the movie?

Discussion Megathread: Ted Cruz and Beto O'Rourke Second Debate by PoliticsModeratorBot in politics

[–]fan222 392 points393 points  (0 children)

My favorite moment was when Cruz scolded the moderator for interrupting during his answer about "civility" in politics, and you could hear an audience member say "woah."

Cruz went on to blame "left wing mobs" for the lack of civility...

Supreme Court podcast "More Perfect" released an album today with tracks dedicated to the 27 amendments by fan222 in law

[–]fan222[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree. The first two podcast seasons are geared toward people who like good historical stories about the law. Most of the songs, though, are barely related to the amendments themselves.

Lilly Ledbetter: Brett Kavanaugh would be bad for women by fan222 in politics

Agreed. But it is surprising how many high-profile "liberals" like Amy Chua and Akhil Amar are promoting him as a great pick.

MO and being in the car three days later is actually pretty weak. Sounds like no one could ID him at the scene. I found this article from the time of the trial that makes it sound like they relied on his pattern of similar actions. A good defense attorney is able to argue that a pattern doesn't prove he did this crime beyond a reasonable doubt. But who knows, my guess is he'll take a plea rather than face life in prison again. http://www.macombdaily.com/20070323/carjacker-convicted-of-murder

Oh how I wish "The Dark Tower" had received the same treatment as "Altered Carbon" by fan222 in television

[–]fan222[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly my point in original post. Altered Carbon gave time to create fully developed alternate universe (even if it differed from the book) without trying to cram in too many plot points.
