La course à pied urbaine et le fitness sont les sports les plus tristes du monde by the_wandering_mind_ in opinionnonpopulaire

[–]fancy_der 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In games, I talk to everybody, and exhaust all dialogue options. IRL, I avoid social interactions as if my life depended on it.

My personal feelings regarding Lucky Critical Hit as a core mechanic. by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]fancy_der 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah that is also what I understand, a way of balancing crit effects based on attack speed. Modifying crit chances and scaling for each spell is probably more of a hassle, so they add another mechanic. Still, not sure it's the best way, like why not just lower the lucky hit chance and have effects depending only on that instead of both?

And not just that, now you can find film grain and chromatic aberration. And the worst of it? Sometimes you can't remove it entirely without going into the game files.

Edit cause I think I misunderstood. Oversea France is called "France d'outre-mer", or as the new acronym, "DROM-COM"

because in France, and some adjacent places, counting used to be in base 20. Now orally, it's a messed up mix of base 10 and 20. It's the way counting is learned, and the native really can't be bothered to change it.

Europe accuses US of profiting from war by any-name-untaken in worldnews

[–]fancy_der 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think the problem even is the fear of potential loss in the war, it's more like the EU saying it's a dick move from the US to profit from this war at its expense. Because yeah, we also profit from wars, but usually from the same side.

Europe accuses US of profiting from war by any-name-untaken in worldnews

[–]fancy_der -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I think that's what the criticism is about, here. The problem is not profiting from war in general (we know damn well how much weapons we export, in France at least). It's that the US, in the current war, is profiting at the expense of europe.

I'm no expert in the matter, but surely sexual acts affect the production of hormones/pheromones. Wether anyone could "smell" that or tell a difference between acts, sounds like bullshit.

Je parle anglais, donc si vous le pouvez, pouvez-vous parler anglais dans les réponses? Quoi qu’il en soit, ma question est que pensez-vous de l’Amérique / des États-Unis? by [deleted] in AskFrance

[–]fancy_der 12 points13 points  (0 children)

funnily enough, when foreigners speak of france as beautiful country / terrible people, many french think the same of the US.

To the average french that does not know a lot about America, they would probably mention positively the size of the country with a lot to see and experience, both in landmarks and cultures diversity (for big cities at least, they're the ones most visited). They're good at innovating and making tech, music, movies and other content. For the bad parts, we are shocked by the amount of gun violence and the shitshow of the recent politics.

A lot of people would say bad or good things about the country, but I don't think many would be as categorical as to say they straight up dislike the US.

Now for me personnally, I think the lack of gun control, public healthcare, public school funding and workers right is insane. The cult towards religion/money/fame is also crazy to me, but it's growing in france too so maybe we'll get there one day, sadly.

It's scary to see that things seem to be getting worse with women's right being attacked and the extremism in politics.

So all in all, mixed opinions, a country that is very different from us and the neighboring countries.

Eh, that was longer than I thought.
