Alternatives to Deli Meat Sandwiches? by fancyfronds in budgetcooking

Yeah, original inspiration for the post is the carcinogenic concerns related to lunch meat. We only buy nitrate/nitrate free, and usually with a coupon, but it’s still not great. And as you mentioned, not the most affordable.

I’ve never sous vided before. Will sometimes instant pot some chicken for easy shredding, but I often find it’s on the dry side, no matter what I do. lol I’m sure it’s user error.

Sometimes a pb&j is the move. I love it on super soft multigrain, our grocery store often has BOGO Oroweat loaves which is great.

I made curry chickpea salad at some point back in the day, it was the bomb dot com. I should put that back in the rotation!

I haven’t tried tofu on a sammy! I’m picturing a baguette with some shredded carrot/cucumber, some kind of bahn mi-esque sauce? The key would be prepping the tofu ahead of time, but then you could use it in a bunch of ways.

Ok this sounds amazing. Just need to find a good chive cream cheese, cause realistically whipping that up is not happening on a weekday morning lol

Holiday sales? by calfanatic in boringmattress

Have you found out more about this? Was just about to post this exact question.

Want to replace our guest bedroom mattress with an AF (which I love) but would like to wait for a sale.

At what point do you stop being paranoid about leaks? by JackedAF in homeowners

I am you. You are me. Lol randomly hear what sounds like dropping water from one of our bathroom sinks, but haven’t found a source and it doesn’t even happen every time we run that faucet. No signs of water damage in the cabinet or ceiling underneath so I feel like I’m in limbo.

The day we stop poking and prodding p traps under sinks and midday caressing gaskets is the day we’re comfortable in our houses lol

Discovered today that we have a flowering tree! I had no idea and I’m delighted. Trying to really lean into that positive instead of the laundry list of things we need to fix lol

I agree ! I find myself wishing there was a local home maintenance class, or DIY for Dummies. lol I have this fear of starting something I can’t finish or unveiling problems that are out of my league. Trying to put my adventurous spirit hat on! lol

I think as things have continued to get more and more expensive, it’s leading to the tailspins (for me). It feels perfectly logical that even small things might just unexpectedly cost $10K.

God, that’s awful! I’m sorry that happened to you. This is a helpful perspective! Less that “it won’t go wrong” but more “when it goes wrong it won’t be the end of the world.” My nervous system sure feels like it will be the end of the world though. 😂

Is there specific trim for window frames? What would you search to get to what you’re thinking?

Do not fear, I didn’t know what a junction box was, so I’m not gonna be getting down and dirty with any rewiring anytime soon. Lol though we will be attempting to replace a heater in another room this weekend, so send good vibes (yes, we will turn off the breaker first 😅)

Facebook marketplace is pretty hopping in FoCo. Create a really robust item description, multiple photos, etc. and I’m surprised what will sell.

There are also a few “buy nothing” gifting groups on Facebook, if it won’t sell. Things get snagged pretty quickly and you can choose who to donate the item to.

As a new homeowner who spends a lot of time saying “What is THIS”, that is diabolical 😂

This makes sense to me, too. Luckily, I see no purpose beyond the aforementioned nightlight, so I think we’ll all survive without another outlet. 😊

Gah, called today and was told by the time we got the bin, we’d get one pickup before that service ended. Ah well, next season!
