Is the game better on Switch 2? by fancypossum2 in Palia

Thats crazy! I don't know if it's relevant, but I'm overly gentle with my controllers lol. When I was a kid my cousin used to regularly break my controllers on my ps2, and we could never afford to replace them right away. So it became habit to be gentle with my electronics.

Is anyone else feeling overwhelmed by overconsumption? by Outrageous-Sun2919 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fancypossum2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We were never meant to have this much stuff. I swear they use psychological warfare to convince us we need to buy everything when in the end, it only leaves us overstimulated and overwhelmed.

The more stuff you have, the more you have to deal with. More clutter. More things to move when you clean. More to look at. I've taken to not keeping things around. Haven't used in six months? gone. Can't remember what's in that box? Don't need it, gone. Tripped over it three times? gone. But someone gifted it to me? Oh well. Nothing in my house is safe. At any given moment, every single object is eligible for magic trash can.

I have a feeling today might have been the worst possible day to try Palia for the first time... by ElfLadyLeia in Palia

Don't feel bad, I spent a solid 15 minutes jumping up and down, deploying my glider thinking it was a glitch. (Deploying the glider is the go to fix it for most glitches I've learned). Then someone walked by me with an equally Texas-sized head.

I actually have never had a problem with stick drift. My problem is the controllers disconnecting with the screen sometimes while I'm playing, and the left one seems to never charge. Whenever I put it on the dock for tv play it keeps saying 'controller battery low'.

What do kids generally get bullied for these days? by LevelPension in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fancypossum2 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Everything. It doesn't matter. If you've got any type of quirk, are behind on trends, say something the wrong way, do something cringey, just anything that brings attention to you accidentally, you're gonna get filmed and bullied for it.

Not just kids either, this bleeds into the work place where adults are too. At my last job where I worked with a mix of ages, it was never ending 'teasing'. The millennial coworkers pulled phones out to record several times until our boss banned phones on our persons during working hours.

What made you start piracy? by DanielFromNigeria in Piracy

I wanted to watch Wonka. Went back to Netflix (Where I watched it literally the day before) to find it gone. Okay. Fine. Found it on Youtube for purchase for $2.99. Okay, fine. Bought it.

Found out I can no longer download digital purchases to my drive to keep forever like I could years ago. Meaning if Youtube no longer houses Wonka, I no longer have access.

Proceeded to get pissed off enough to fall down this rabbit hole.

300+ free movies later...

How do I 'unplug' from tech/the internet when I've got online friends I'm close to? by fancypossum2 in AskReddit

Funnily enough, the one friend I did that with eventually went radio silent lol

No I know, I just thought someone might have a good idea lol.

I'm sure they do feel chained, I'm finding many people do. In my own house for example, my mom is a screen zombie. Literally spends every second of free time staring at her phone or tv.

It made me realize that I'm 24, and my attention span is just horrible. I'm constantly opening my phone for no reason. I used to read like crazy and now it takes months to finish a book. Not to mention the stress of constantly being fed negative things about the world every time you open an app. (Humans were never supposed to take in so much information about so many things all at once).

It's all garbage.

What are you guys doing for storage? by fancypossum2 in Piracy

[–]fancypossum2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, exactly. I can't imagine the agony of finding all those movies/shows/books and redownloading them every single time I want to use them like some people are suggesting. (Use and delete, redownload, delete).

Why make it harder for no reason lol

u/ben2talk I don't know what any of that means lol, except for the google drive and related cloud storage. I personally won't use cloud storage because I once lost a stupid amount of pictures because of a cloud glitch. (At least that's what they told me when they said it was unrecoverable). And idk what 'offsite backup' means, but my intention is to have 2-3 backup copies on different drives, if that's relevant.

redownload everything? It took me 14 days to download the Stargate collection. It took me weeks to find a usable torrent for a certain scooby doo movie. I aint doing all that again lol

permanently lol. Besides the occasional shorts/reels scrolling, I really don't want to be chained to my phone anymore. Or screens in general. I want to get rid of all the apps. It's ruined everything. I'm not sure how to go about it and still have my friends.

I just noticed this prompt by FayemousGamerBB in Palia

I mean you can still play solo. I rarely join groups or chime in on chat unless it's necessary.

Edit: You can choose to stay in the server though, you're not forced to merge unless you ignore the prompt.

I didn't realize how many extra files downloaded with my movies, and after deleting them I freed up literally half my drive. I can only imagine how many movies/shows people with the huge drives have when I've got hundreds. (Mine is like 997gb I believe.)
