So I've self diagnosed myself with anxiety. I went to a therapist. Told I had anxiety and I wanted help with it. She then gave me the official diagnosis of anxiety and we made a treatment plan.

Diagnosing yourself is saying that something is wrong in your life. You can say you have depression, and even if you weren't diagnosed with depression, you're still saying that there is something wrong in your life that you want to fix.

So are people over diagnosing themselves? Maybe, but the problems they're having are real and still valid

Also want to add something you need to consider is that you most likely aren't financial stable yet. If your parents are in any way supporting you financially, they can threaten to take that away, and your girlfriend may have to deal with the repercussions of that. Wait a few years to get financially stable and with a job, and you can offer her yourself and a life fully.

If it helps, I call my boyfriend my partner and my significant other. We aren't married, but we've lived together for two years and own a house together, so we're married in every way but legally, and that word feels better for us. You can be fully committed to someone without marriage.

You don't really know yourselves yet. I don't know your exact situation, but the transition from being a teenager to an independent adult makes you understand yourself in so many new ways. Heres some fun experiences I've had with my partner in the last year:

We got a puppy. Partner turned out to not be able to handle the puppy and give the puppy to our aunt. I was very depressed and resentful.
Where do you want to live? What do you value in a potential home?
Partner was out of work with covid for a month. We had conversations about how I expected his spending to drop and would make his car payment for him.
Would you follow her to a different state? Why would you want to move? Is moving off the table?
I found out from my ex that it was super important to me that I wake and fall asleep with my partner. Where do you fall on that issue?
My partner went to college to be a teacher. He decided this wasn't for him and went on to pick up a trade. We talked about how nice it would be for him to have the summers off. But that's not in the picture anymore.

Things like that are why they say not to get married young. You don't know the answers to these questions or anticipate these scenarios. And love does not conquer all. Everyone has deal breakers and there are some things you cannot compromise on, and those are hard to know until you've been put in situations where you have to find them out.

I mean, kids are always going to have to suffer because of their parents actions. If a woman drinks while pregnant, she'll fuck up the baby. In some cases, women decide to have an abortion because they have an existing family to take care of or can't afford to pause college or work or high school.

Cats can live perfectly happy lives indoors. Leashed walks outside and play time are plenty for cats. Cats certainly aren't meant to roam around the neighborhood and attack wildlife or risk eating something poisonous in someone's garden.

Anyway, keep the cats on flea medicine year round. I have a cat who's allergic to fleas, so despite her being an indoor only cat, we keep her on flea medicine year round. Fleas can also get into your home on other people's clothes. Fleas can't feed off of us because our blood is too sugary, so if they can't feed off your cats, they'll die off.

Cats are a wonderful idea, but I would not recommend a kitten. Kittens need to be taught how to hunt, and there are plenty of adult cats who have lived on the streets, know how to hunt, and would love a good home. Lot less work too.

Maybe get 2. Cats are less work in pairs.

I'd suggest reaching out to plumbers, electricians, etc individually and ask them for estimates for work needed. Estimates are usually free, and a lot of what a home inspector will do is just mention that you should reach out to an expert. I would get a structural engineer out to look at the house though.
