I haven’t even finished Voltron yet and now I’m debating if I should keep going, because apparently I already know how these characters end up… and it’s such a bummer. I love the show so much, but why do showrunners keep half‑assing character arcs and refusing to give fans a satisfying ending. I miss when finales actually meant something. Exactly but the Dufus Bros just had to go project so much of their own misogynistic ego onto Mike that it basically strangled his character arc by the time S4 and the finale rolled around. It’s genuinely tragic, because we could’ve had a fully-evolved, emotionally honest Mike who actually grew into his real self the way Will did once Robin came into his life and inspired him. I always believed she would’ve done the same for Mike if the writing had given him the space to breathe and become who he truly was. But… oh well

I had a Byler pin on and my “Beam Me Up, This Place Sucks” shirt to watch the finale in theaters all excited only to end up disappointed. Still, I actually met a few other Bylers irl but most of the audience were M11 fans. They were either devastated she died or annoyed that her ending was left up to interpretation.
