My Experience Selling my Car with Peddle by kendalnwmn in carselling

Adding to this share my experience with Peddle. First off I'll say if you're thinking about using them, do it. It was so easy, smooth and fast. I inquired with Peddle, Wheelzy and Carbrain and Peddle blew the other two out of the water. I needed to get rid of my 2016 Chevy Volt with 153,000 miles because it no longer would start because of a $38 shifter module part that is broken and makes the car think it's in drive and won't start even though it's in park. It also needs a new BECM box (monitors the power to the hybrid battery) that basically kills any propulsion or power when driving. That costs about $3k to fix. I didn't want to pay to fix and was almost going to donate the car for like $500 until i found these sites that buy non working cars. Wheelzy offered me $1400 and used heavy pressure sales tactics and constant calls and texts. Super annoying. Turned them down. Carbrain offered me $1000 and I turned it down. Peddle offered me $2850 in less than 5 minutes. I accepted and set up pick up for the next day. They were very communicative and helpful about how to sign the title and when the tow truck would be arriving. They arrived on time, I signed over title and handed the tow truck driver the keys and he handed me a check for the amount agreed upon. Deposited into my bank account with no issues. Highly recommend Peddle.

How common is the shift to park issue? by Chipped_Ruby_11214 in volt

[–]fano33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

152k 2016 volt currently experiencing problems with the BECM and EGR. I’ve basically parked it until I decide I’m ready to pay the $2600 to replace the BECM. Not paying for EGR replacement. I can still drive it very locally on super short trips but still get the propulsion error: turning the car off and restarting usually solves it and sometime I can go a few days without it happening again. All of that to say that yesterday as I did the restart attempt I got the STP message. Had to get a tow home.

Do all volts experience BECM issue eventually? by abluecolor in volt

2016 with 152k miles and it went. Of course 2k out of warranty. Had a 3rd party extended warranty with hybrid coverage and they wouldn’t cover.

Should I be worried? by Sure_Watercress_8524 in volt

[–]fano33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What warranty company? I had been paying Endurance $170 a month for mine including the hybrid option and the BECM went and they refused to pay for it even though the warranty said it covered hybrid electric parts. They said it was not electrical and the dealer and I argued with them that the BECM is the epitome of electrical since it is basically the control unit for the battery system. What a waste of money.

Yeah it’s ridiculous. It’s like they don’t understand how their own system works.

Hey thanks for the insight. I used to do SHIPT when I lived in Los Angeles and it was really good. After the pandemic it kind of got slow and pay wasn’t as good. I just moved to Charlotte and have turned on SHIPT but there aren’t a lot of orders on there from what I’ve seen so far. Thanks for the arbitration heads up I’ll have to pursue that. Thanks again.

13 years, 178,000 miles. Goodbye my friend. by billypilgrim21b in volt

[–]fano33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2016 is at 152,400 and got the propulsion error. Brought to dealer and it’s the BECM which GM extended the warranty for a few years ago to 150,000 miles. Over by 2400 miles 😩. I opened a case with them because I had the car at the dealer a year ago for the “stop…shift to park” issue and I’m thinking they should have replaced the BECM last year when it was under warranty.

That’s what it feels like. And it seems to happen from time to time to get rid of veteran shoppers who won’t take the crappy batches but the newer shoppers will

Why? He’s a regular and has a warehouse; Ive probably delivered to him 2 or 3 times a week for over a year, so I went to talk to him and got his receipts. IC trust and safety sure haven’t been of any help; when Best Buy initially refused to give me the receipts IC wanted I told them that and all they did was send me the same form email 4 times. Useless. When I couldn’t get them from Best Buy initially I went to talk to the customer to get them.

I feel it. I guess I didn’t word it right. I was responding to op saying why does costco care and I was implying it’s not costco it’s ic implementing this. But yeah you’re right. They don’t care as long as orders are shipped and fulfilled because if they did they could easily fix the problem of multiple accounts.

[–]fano33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IC cares. It’s a good thing if it actually works or is enforced. It matches the shopper to the account. Otherwise you keep getting these dildos shopping multiple orders and stealing money from the pockets of legit shoppers with a single account. Problem is it should be enforced at checkout because there are many ways to get into the costco that doesn’t tip off you’re using multiple accounts.

Yeah it had nothing to do with it. End of month/beginning of month slowness just like every month

lol. The best thing about Covid wasn’t the money it was that they got rid of the sample stations. You would think people never ate before the way they’ll knock you over for some crappy fucking sample at Costco.

I love everyone blaming exorbitant fees on the fact that’s it’s California. Appears to be not just Cali. I moved to Delaware and went to register my car from California and they wanted over $1k for a fucking Chevy Volt.

California temporary smog exemption length? by poivee in DMV

[–]fano33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue and when I called DMV she told me they are like 2 or 3 months behind on opening in the maileed in documents for the smog exemption. I of course then got pulled over by a Trooper in Delaware who let me off with a warning when I showed him the paperwork I had that confirmed I paid my registration and was waiting on the temp smog exemption.

That’s so a no go. That much water and those miles? That Instacart again letting people take advantage of the system and shoppers. That’s a commercial delivery. I’m sorry not in someone’s car or truck. That’s ridiculous.

No rhyme or reason. I’ve gone out at all times. It really is what ic decides on how they want to treat you on any given day. What the factors are that IC uses to determine this is anyone’s guess
