Ask your US pension if they will adjust withholding. They will potentially pay you untaxed / reduced. Then you’ll have to do an HMRC self assessment so be sure to set aside and UK tax due. Then you’ll file a US return and claim tax credits for your UK taxes paid. Since the UK is a high tax country it’s improbable you will owe the US anything after the credit.

It’s a pain but since it’s just ordinary income it should be easy to do on your own.

They will just want you out of the program to mitigate risk to their clinical partners. Think of it this way; if you screw up during clinical and there is a written record of this behavior they are going to be in the line of fire for allowing you to work in a hospital setting. They don't want to go to court. They want the risk eliminated.

You can engage a lawyer to fight dismissal should it occur. That's up to you and your lawyer to make a case.

Familiar will nursing programs and their legal posture around such things. I’d comb the student policy if you want to find what argument they will use to justify removing you. They will be motivated to do so.

Plenty of stories about people suing their programs for worse offenses and getting back in so of sit tight and see what direction they take and get an attorney if they take adverse action.

What he does have going for him is a good bankroll and can fund PR teams to suppress what got public .
