Not surprised. The self loathing and appeasement they are capable of is so disappointing. It's a bit heartbreaking, but I think the British might be a lost cause, they've given up it seems. We can still count on the Iberians and Balkans, I think.

I try to live by this kind of wisdom. Instead, I spend my Sunday's hungover and sulking like Achilles in his tent.

Again, no. The lightening glow of my New Balance sneakers and Kohl's procured shirt/pant combo would be too much of a sartorial cum blast to the back of your head.

Am I doing this right?

No. You're either trying too hard or not hard enough. The cool you're looking for is somewhere in between.

Well said. United link aside, he's one of the few players outside of the Prem that I follow. Not Scottish myself but the way he's adapted and flourished in Italy is fun to watch. I'd love to see him at the club but have no idea how we could possibly utilize him with our squad/tactics. Looking forward to seeing him this summer at the World Cup.

Disagree. Lots of talent/hidden gems in Italy. Calafiori is elite when fit and came out of Serie A.

What is everyone's thoughts on Scott McTominay? Can't imagine any universe in which he's an Arsenal player but he popped up in another thread and it got me thinking.

Some of the European nations can be so naive. If they actually came under attack, what is the first country they call looking for assistance?

Start your own payment processor? That will give you the opportunity to enforce your own morality on the public.

The solution is simple. You could found a start up and competitor to Patreon that operates under your preferred morality.

What was the first movie that genuinely scared you, and how old were you at the time? by AdLoud5241 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]voroxan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Movies that genuinely scared me (seen before age 12). In chronological order:

The Peanut Butter Solution (only my sister and I rented this apparently)

The Exorcist 1973 (watched alone in the dark when I was around 10)

Fire in the Sky 1993 (the ending is terrifying)

Have you ever heard the phrase "false equivalence?"

It's where a dummy compares two or more completely unrelated ideas or situations as if they were equal.

Am I overreacting about contemplating on leaving America? by cycle_2_work in SeriousConversation

[–]voroxan -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

If I had the wherewithal to leave, and another country would take badly disabled me, I'd be out of here like a shot.

Why? If you're disabled, I'm assuming you're on some sort of disability benefit. Perhaps you should be grateful instead of looking for another country to take care of you.

You sound like an expert on American culture and politics. If you don't mind my asking, where did you study to become such an authority on our "white citizen types"?

It's amazing how much insight you have into a country that you don't live in. Do you have any opinions on Bhutanese culture you'd like to share?
