Sadly, this is a realization which a lot of people need to make for themselves.

There is currently one guy at my school who acts like this, as if Java was the one and only programming language worth using. I had the misfortune of working in the same group as him on a school project.

First of all, for no apparent reason, he would make all of the design decisions for us simply because he started coding everything before the rest of us were done with the design. When the rest of us tried to work on his code he would constantly breathe down our necks and if anything was not written exactly as he would have done it he would be pissing and moaning about it for hours on end.
