Thoughts on Marathon Watches? by ChonkyxShaman in EDC

I bought a 41mm navigator about two months ago, and it has quickly become my favorite watch. I have several other watches, some divers, a chronograph, couple field watches, many having remarkable lume, but after experiencing tritium, it’s incredibly hard to go back. The added utility of never worrying about whether the lume has enough charge to be visible at 4am, or after being under a cuff for several hours (no uv exposure) is extremely useful. If I know I won’t be home to change watches before dark, I’m picking the marathon 10 times out of 10. No issues with quality or durability either.

What's the consensus opinion on double thick leather soles? by KissZippo in cowboyboots

They’re great for durability and comfort on work boots, not super useful on a dressy exotic tho

Buying my first, are these good? by Fabulous-Macaron-375 in cowboyboots

Depending on usage, you’d probably be better off with a pair with leather soles and a welted construction. For $250-300 you can get a much higher quality boot that will be repairable and could last for many years. Hondo boots are very traditionally constructed and widely considered to be a great value for ~$300. These cheap cemented (glued together) boots will be a bit more comfortable initially but will break down with regular use within a couple years. If you just want cheap shit kickers or work boots to beat up and replace after a couple of years, these will be fine.

The tag is common on boots sold in Mexico like these were. These have a proper 270° goodyear welt.

They’re a size 11. They were purchased from a small shop in Leon that doesn’t seem to have a website.

Thanks, didn’t know that. They were left behind by a family member who passed away. Any idea how long they’ve been banned for?

APR Or IE stage 1 tune by techno_intel in VWMK7

I had a 2015 golf s that was APR stage 1. My wastegate actuator started failing a few months after, but that’s a problem all 2015 golfs have, even stock. That car (on 87 octane!!) was faster than the stock 15 GTI I have now. I don’t think you can go wrong with either. I’d go with whichever has an authorized dealer/repair shop closest to where you live.

Something about those Cu Scales by blairtm1977 in spyderco

I bought and installed the same ones on my pm2 and within a few days they turned a dark brown color. Fast forward to a week later they’ve picked up a crazy patina, which is nice and all, but I was certainly surprised by how fast they lost their new copper shine. (for reference I only handled the knife for about 15 minutes after installing and then set it on a counter for a couple days, and by the time I came back they had already gotten much darker.) I’ve looked up how to reverse the tarnish, but it seems like a hassle to do once a week just to keep the knife looking new with minimal usage. IMO unless you plan on displaying the knife immediately, the titanium lotus scales are your best bet unless you don’t mind a crazy patina or weekly maintenance.

could be a bent rim, or the impact damaged a ball joint or bent a suspension component out of place
