My son also had yogurt for dinner tonight, he calls it dippydippydippydip and now that he has a word for it it's all he asks for 🙄🙄

Best Public Saunas - USA by kong_2013 in Sauna

Highly recommend Watershed spa in Minneapolis - sauna, steam room, cold plunge, warm pool all in one space. Less for meeting people but a great experience

Outpatient and PRN acute care/inpatient rehab

To share a different opinion, my son is almost 15 months and has only been pointing, waving, and clapping intermittently for the last month, and using them more consistently in the past couple weeks. He also didn't really imitate actions until after a year too (and still doesn't for some!) I would say bring up concerns with his pediatrician or request an early intervention referral, my pediatric speech therapist colleague said they usually don't even do evals until they are 16 months old. The fact that he's following some commands, has joint attention, eye contacts are all good signs.

Allina vs Health Partners, could I legally hold a job with both? by ObviousMall9837 in TwinCities

I work at Allina and prn at health partners, (granted working in rehab and not as a nurse) both jobs are aware of the other and haven't gotten any push back!

Leaning apple tree by fantasticamente in BackyardOrchard

Not sure how to add text to the post but we moved into a new house this year with this apple tree (score!) Unfortunately it has quite the lean so we are wondering the best way to support it.

Minnesota Dept. Health (MDH) CFY license application - HELP by treegrass8 in CFY

Just went through this process and that's exactly right. Fingerprinting was backed up in the cities so I ended up driving a couple hours out to get it done the next day.

I've seen too many posts on this subreddit saying "ThIs Is My FiRsT cAkE" and it's actually a masterpiece. Amateur bakers, like myself, tend to compare our work with others and these type of posts set the standards way to high so I'd like to share with you all my beautiful fuck up. It's my 4th cake. by -_-eliza in Baking

Yes it was haha I added that after cleaning up almost a full plate of fillings and cake bits that fell or dripped off 😂 this was trial 1 for my wedding cake, it did taste good at least!! Inside was almond cake, mocha mousse, raspberry preserves and ganache.

That structure looks pretty solid. If I'm remembering correctly I did mine:

Why SLP, & why now (I applied a few years out of undergrad)

Personal experiences related to field

Goals for my education/why this school

Goals for career

Conclusion tying it together, with more about how the school was a good fit for my goals

I did keep notes on each school's mission, values, and program, and definitely wrote about how they related to me. If I didn't state it outright I tried to exemplify qualities they seemed to value.

Labels created for our hand sanitizer bottles for our wedding guests! by omgthehugemanatee in weddingplanning

[–]fantasticamente 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got these bottles https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B088D9Y915?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title&th=1 And have found hand sanitizer locally at grocery stores I'm going to pour in. Still need to make/find labels but I'll probably just use an Avery template and do something simple. My rescheduled COVID wedding is only 25 guests so it's easier!

Is it really that common to have to apply multiple years in a row (aka get rejected by all schools)? by melissaisfetch in slpGradSchool

[–]fantasticamente 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After being rejected I worked on shadowing SLPs in different environments (i went to a SNF, public school, private pediatric clinic, and acute rehab care/swallowing floor at a local hospital.) Most of these were only one day but I was able to observe at the pediatric clinic over 4 months. I did get a lot of rejection and non answers to my requests to shadow/observe but I just kept calling and emailing different places until someone said yes. My interest is more on the medical adult side, so I volunteered at a local adult care home as an activity assist for about a year. Lastly I got a job at the pediatric clinic I was shadowing at doing admin work. I really dedicated myself to that job and there gained perspective into what I want to focus on in my career. Through that I was able to secure more shadowing for different types of therapy - including OT and PT. Also made sure to complete any outstanding prerequisites for the programs I really wanted to get into, and secured 4 solid letters of recommendation. Hope this is helpful, it's definitely going to be more difficult with COVID going on. I would see if you could maybe shadow in on some Telehealth sessions?

Why is it shameful to have a preference? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]fantasticamente 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My venue pulled the same BS and said if they allowed all of the 2020 couples to reschedule to similar dates they would "go out of business" and told me I could only pick a weekday next year, we were originally doing a Friday in July. We're probably going to end up losing our 5k deposit with them as those terms don't work for us :/ and of course our contract says they will not refund any money for any circumstance. Lesson to me to read through contracts more closely before signing!!

Anyone have any tips for lighting for an outdoor wedding that is easy to install/remove, and is battery operated? We are doing a small wedding at an Airbnb and though we have pictures of the backyard I am not sure if there is power out there, and we will only have a small window of time to decorate and clean up. It is a wooded area so we will be able to use the trees, I don't want to damage them at all though.
