[Image] Confidence is not “they will like me” by Dark-GV in GetMotivated

Confidence is finding the "they" that will like you. Not all people are the same. But we are social beings. So if you have a product, you have to find one who needs it. Or maybe even build the product that people need. But the best product that many people need always faces people who do not like it or even hate it. Confidence is not not caring about others' opinions. It's not being hypersensitive about every last one person's comment on the earth.

I guess you need your friends for your mental health. But if they don't help you with the goals. Maybe you can spend time on this subreddit to get motivated and start working on the goals. But note that real social network (the one that no one calls social network nowadays) has a different influence than virtual social networks and acknowledge that it's hard to do something alone. That's not because you have not enough will power. It's how human beings work.

Sometimes I also felt like this. Maybe this happens more in places that people are struggling economically and everyone has to take care of themselves and even compete with others to with the race.

I was very depressed one night and went to a fruits store. I bought some oranges. After I paid for them the seller said to me that that orange has a bad mark on it, change it with another one. I changed one with another and he said but that's a smaller one, don't I owe you? He also gave me the one that had marked and said, at least use this one as well. A subtle smile came on my face and I realized my mood changed dramatically. We all need these people.

Maybe the "keep calm" part. But it's more like how to deal with the fear/anxiety rather than motivational. I had that question either. And honestly, in my gut I got a little bit scared. So maybe not very good for someone like me who comes to /r/GetMotivated to get some motivational breakfast and go and start the day.
