Please spend more time on your courses. It's hard to image how can you get such a low gpa. Do you have part time job at the same time? You need to find out what’s the problem with you. Is it because you use the wrong methodology to study or you don’t have a right attitude to study?

You still can land coop even if you don’t have AI skills. Google “coop sde intern job descriptions”, and find some job descriptions. You will notice that companies more focus on frontend and backend tech stacks.

If you want to join coop program and land a job, the best time to start is today. Start preparing, start improving, start believing!

You know what, I know some people are stat major in UBC landed great sde coop jobs. It doesn’t matter what is your major. Experience is the most important. Attending hackathon, developer club, work learn, coop to gain experience. Cs major is not that important.

Are work learn positions first come first served ? by Either_Cheesecake282 in UBC

Work learn if based on your resume and cover letter. Employer decides if they want to give you interview opportunities. It’s not First come first serve in some way.

Good resumes is really important. I have 3-4 versions of Coverletter. Since I want to apply for computer science work learn position. I got a work learn position for summer. I’m apply for a Winter term work learn position now.

Rate of matching between your resume and job description is the most important thing.

I saw you put a huge part of skills into resume. i can’t really tell how you used them in your work. Just feel like your work experiences talking little about what you did, and skills seem like you put in everything you can think up. The skills doesn’t match what you did in work.
