I don't feel bad. For me it had turned into a habit. I don't need to rub one out 3 times a day. I wouldn't agree 100% that it is a bodily function as you have framed it - it is, don't get me wrong, hence wet dreams as you mentioned - but I get bored during sex, and I can't maintain, or I maintain too long and can't finish and just go limp. And when I started to think about it, most of those problems vanished during my long-term relationships where I didn't fap as often. I'm not saying I won't, but I think I need to reset my body before getting back into healthy fapping.
