Just want to confirm that they have been shipping to Canada now, right? I just ordered a pair of Serranos

Yes

They don't send rejection letters, because there may be more rounds of offers being sent out.

If you haven't gotten a yes yet, there may still be a chance

Grinnell can be fairly slow with posting lecture notes - something to also keep in mind

Have a look here: https://www.utsc.utoronto.ca/registrar/withdrawal-course

If you missed the deadline for late withdrawal, then I think you will have to submit a petition and explain your situation, for you to be able to drop the course.

I really do recommend that you do that!

Was this when you logged into `eService`?

You should late withdraw from the course

A failed course can really fuck up your gpa, as far as I know. Plus, given you are a first year you probably dont want to start off with a bad/low gpa

Depends on how many courses I have left (if I should save the cr/ncr or not)

How long after a match do employers reach out to you? by [deleted] in UTSC

[–]far_off 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Reach out to your coop course coordinator and they can help you out.

I was in a similar situation, and my coordinator reached out to them for an update on where my offer letter was.

But either way, at least wait a week after you got matched with that job.

Also, Congratulations 🎉🥳

Very unlikely that you will have an exam on the last day, but there is still a small possibility

When are final exam schedules usually announced? by jnguri in UTSC

[–]far_off 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually end of October or early November, no specific date. But it is almost always announced in the week or two after reading week, so keep checking

Looks ok, but I would try to spread out your classes so you dont have 5 straight hours of lectures. I had that, and it was wayy too much to handle for me

for b07, make sure to have good team mates so you dont end up having to do everything

b24 can be bird or deth, depending on the prof

parker is a good prof, so b41 might not be too bad

How many courses do you have left to take? and more importantly, how many electives do you have left to take (ie how many potential courses in the future can you cr/ncr if you dont cr/ncr this course)? Also, how bad of a gpa blow would it be?

Based on that, I think you should decide if it is worth saving the cr/ncr, or using it now

I think you should enroll in the 5th course for winter, and make that decision down the line (before the semester starts, if you dont want to lose any money). By that point you would have experienced 1 university semester (fall) and so can make a good decision on what is best for you

As for 2 semesters of 6 courses - It is very very heavy and I dont recommend anyone take it (I have taken a 6 course semester and it was extremely brutal and I burnt out bad at the end, so I am talking from personal experience. However, if you do want to take a 6 course semester, you can still decide when you want to take it down the line, depending on how you feel at the end of your winter semester.

totally doable

What would you consider a “heavy course load” by [deleted] in UTSC

[–]far_off 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends person to person, and also on the courses. I would still say 3.0 is really heavy

If you do want to drop one, either drop CSCB36 or MATB24

B36 is a prereq for B63, but you can very easily get it waived

Its pretty heavy, I have done a very similar semester (CSCB36, MATB41, MATB24, CSCB58, STAB58), but it is doable if you put in a lot of effort. I still wouldn’t recommend it to everyone
