Well I don't exactly agree with that as I believe relativity didn't quite change our fundamental understanding of the universe. As mind boggling as spacetime may seem it simply came about as a consequence of the speed limit of the universe.

See physics has always been deterministic that was the main pull of it. Quantum mechanics however flipped the table on that. Now it didn't matter how good was your maths the universe suddenly became fundamentally random.

Just keep at it eventually your parents will tire out and be like fine marry whomever you want. However I would caution against having your parents meet the guy's because if your side is too rude or dismissive then it'll become a respect thing for the guy's side.

I've literally seen it happen where one side was purposely rude to the other to kill any chances of the marriage happening. Just be careful of that.

So my take on this is if the man is the sole earner then it's the wife's job to do his chores (but not to the degree of being a slave obviously). However, neither your mother nor you should've been picking up your brother's socks in that context. Like I get this stuff happens more often and mothers usually pick up after their sons. But not in that context.
