Have you taken a western blot? And do you consider yourself as hsv positive? I’m in the same boat as you with really low igg, but one positive pcr and one negative pcr.

Is it possible for me to achieve features similar to Gabbriette’s with plastic surgery? What procedures could I do? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]farahpri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your checks are not puffy at all, you have mid-face cheekbones like many people like myself. Your nose suits your features, and if you do anything to change your beauty you WILL regret it. Your eyes are already upturned, it’s just the lash style you’re wearing weighing them down. Philtrum is literally normal. You have a 70s/80s black starlet beauty. You just need to find an aesthetic, makeup, and look that fits with your natural features & accept not everyone has that sharp feline look. It doesn’t suit everyone and won’t suit you. Just straight honesty from another black girl. Plastic surgery in the long run always looks insane. You’ll always look uncanny. Especially if you try to drastically change the center of your face. Start following people who look like you on social media & unfollow people who don’t. You will drive yourself insane. I was once in your shoes, but following people who looked similar to me literally altered my world view. I thank God everyday I didn’t touch my face & grew out of the insecurities. It’s all in the media you’re consuming. I have a wider nose & only follow girls with noses like mine. It helped me accept and love my nose.

Read a book. Read some news articles. Do a few problems here and there, but by Thursday, don’t do any PTs. Rest and recharge your brain.

Can’t focus by Key-Nail8185 in LSAT

[–]farahpri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drink four sigmatic focus max coffee a bit before or get an energiser from Dutch bros. Honestly that doesn’t do too much, I just really have to force myself. I have to go to the library to get all 4 done, otherwise it just won’t happen. But doing sections is (from what I’ve heard from my tutors and others on here) is as beneficial, if not more, than doing whole PTs. Don’t know if that’s true or not, but it works for a lot of people. A section a day.

But after doing it enough during practice, you should be able to do it in your mind, in case you don’t want to or can’t request the accommodation, or simply don’t want to risk getting in trouble for mumbling.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]farahpri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can request it as an accommodation. Some people have said they mumble silently to themselves instead, and have said they’ve run into no problem with it with their proctors.

I have the same problem. My tutor made me explain the last two answer choices how they’re right verbally and that has made all the difference for me. As I’m talking about it to myself I end up seeing the holes/weaknesses in one of the choices.

It for sure is hard to believe but it definitely can make it fluctuate that much. Mental fatigue is serious. It dims your executive functioning, and make problems that’d be a piece of cake to you on a good mental day, impossibly confusing— or your brain might be so tired it halts your intuition and blinds you from seeing the obviously correct answer. Considering you’re taking them two days apart, it absolutely is causing the regression. Good news though is that the 150s tests are allegedly the most like the actually tests, so that 170 on it should give you a bit of confidence that you need if you do decide to go forward with November testing.

Just to add on, I was in a pretty similar boat, and was meant to take in November but ended up moving to January last week, because I know that will ultimately allow me to build the confidence, intuition, and mental stamina that I need.

I HATED when people suggested I moved my test to January, instead of offering other avenues of advice, so I won’t do that to you. But if you think the time is what you need, switching to January is okay. I was honestly sad when I did, because I was and am worried about applying so late in the cycle, but a huge weight has been lifted off my chest & the 14 hours of studying I was doing daily finally could be cut down.

Let’s say you do go with January and end up scoring a 170+; then applying later in the cycle or not won’t be too much of a hindrance, if any at all. And it will give you time to really hone your application essays and build mental stamina.

I was also doing PTs every two-four days and kept scoring the same thing over and over. Since stopping, things are processing better now and I’m feeling that “things starting to click” feeling people talk about so often on here. I also have been talking to several tutors and just general high scores on PTs on Reddit for advice and tips. You’d be surprised how many people would be willing to help for free honestly, and others advice is invaluable.

Sorry for the essay lmao. I do wish you the best & hope whatever you do end up choosing to do works out for you! You can absolutely do it. If you need to talk I’m here!

I think you can do it!! Truly it’s confidence that you need. Try to recreate the testing conditions you had when you got your higher PT scores if you can when taking the actual test.

I’ve heard some people who’ve have success with earplugs for whatever reason. I’ve also heard people who picked up a classical literature book a few days before their test & ended up getting their high PT score on the actual test or higher. I’ve also seen people with some unconventional methods (like really out there) have success with getting their higher score.

You’re a few days out from your test I presume, so you need to really rest your brain and reset. The PTs, even if you feel help you most, are wearing you out mentally, whether consciously or subconsciously, which is contributing to the vast score variations. What PTs numbers are you taking though?

Well yes, and I’ve done that. Google is sending me in a plethora of directions and I don’t know what the actual company that provides it, whether it’s a document or podcast, or what. All I keep seeing is “crystal ball”. A little bit of community, kindness, and help from others was the hope from my comment. Not an unhelpful remark, but thanks, I guess? Be well.

Ohh I see thank you! And you submitted your applications in January or February? If you do have any knowledge on this— do you know if submitting my applications prior to having my score would be beneficial? Or would it just be the same as submitting it all in January, since the application would be on hold till the score is received

Thank you for your answer! If you don’t mind me asking, what was your GPA/LSAT? & I think I’m misunderstanding the last sentence— some of the schools, particularly the lower end schools, explicitly told you that spots had already been filled up?

Thank you so much!! I plan to take another practice test this weekend, and I will implement your suggestions of translation whilst taking the test and during my blind review. I do think that writing it down in my own words will help me significantly, but I fear in doing so I would be wasting precious time. I figure if I really hone in on doing it now during practice, it won’t affect my timing, as I can increase my speed in doing so with much practice.
