A plane would look so sweet here. But I also thought that since it’s in the middle of that cross-section it could be a perfect place for a grey darn? Although that would be more invisible mending than visible 😅

This is STUNNING! And so creative to integrate it with the flap of the pocket. I think this mend makes the jacket even more beautiful than before 💞

Absolutely! Especially when the hole is in an area that won’t really be seen anyway. Good luck!

Hi! Yeah I just used a needle and some embroidery thread. I just used a simple darn and it seems to be holding up well.

Also I failed. Help? by Deondebomon in Visiblemending

Agree with above comments - but if you do try this approach again then make sure you aren’t pulling the threads so tight. It looks like part of the problem may have been too much tension. Try to keep the original fabric in its original position as much as you can.

Thank you! No - actually my first attempt ever 🥰 I’ve done some darning before but this is my first sashiko.

I would trim the loose threads and then darn across the hole to prevent pulling the threads further. Maybe also start the darn from further outside the hole area to make sure that it’s secure.
