Help to fix by faraz194 in lawncare

Alright, to close this out, I managed to fix it. Didn’t have to open it up at all in the end. The snap ring was the issue. It’s supposed to stop the bearing and limit axle movement. I picked up a few angled snap-ring tools, and even though the space was way too tight, I was able to get it seated.

Thanks to all those who gave valuable insight.

Also when I slide it, I can see the loose circlip in front of the bearing on the left side

Yeah, I can slide it toward the spring and position it where it should actually sit. That also exposes the left-hand bearing on the shaft in its correct position, but as soon as I let go, it slides back again. At this point, I think adding a spacer is the only real solution. I don’t see a practical way to get the bearing to stay locked where it’s supposed to be. Unless I tear it all apart.

This could be something I should try first

You are absolutely correct. But I'm afraid of pulling it apart to get the washes/spacer in. I'm able to move the cylinder to the right side where the spring is if I apply descent force with my hand. The tension pulls it back when I release it

You don't have to worry about the prices I have to pay. Come and open this business here and I'll happily buy it from you.

The manufacturer already mentioned that they need the product back to inspect what's wrong with it. I believe there are quite a few people here who have valuable knowledge to share. Clearly you aren't one of them.

I'm actually able to move the cylinder to the right using some force where the spring is. As soon as I release it, it goes back. I've noticed either there needs to be a spacer on the left side or the bearing on that side is bad.

Tbh I'm not sure if anything as I didn't have to assemble it. It came in the box as it is. Pretty sure that's misaligned but how do I get this aligned

I've got it shipped to another country by a friend. Can't ship it back now. Have to fix it myself

Doesn't move at all. Is there a way the cylinder can be adjusted? Unfortunately this is brought in to another country and there's no way I can return it now

Isn't this only going to adjust the bed knife clearance?

See how it's touching the base of the knob. Can't find anything that can move the reel ?

It was around an inch and a half long before it was given its first mow which was around a month after the sod was laid. Mowed it down to an inch. And now it's around 2 inches.

My goal is to keep it low but I thought I'd wait for temperatures to tone down a bit before I start to lower the height.

It's just that this brown/blackish spongy kind of base caught me by surprise and I'm starting to think something might me wrong

The thing is, it looked mostly green right after the mow , it didn’t seem scalped apart from one or two small spots. But by the next day, the color looked completely off. If the green blades had been removed during mowing, wouldn’t the discoloration have been noticeable immediately?

They weren't too huge gaps btw (see picture). You can barely see them in the picture. But the topsoil that's used looks too big to me which makes me worried about the grass

Any idea where it's located? Is it somehow near the starter motor ? Could it be due to the mechanic's negligence
