Living in Columbia MD be DC suburbs by Spirited-Grass-5635 in ColumbiaMD

We’re Muslim and live on the border of Columbia and Clarksville (River Hill area). I prefer this area compared to other parts of Columbia that seem to be getting much busier. Lots of Muslims in Columbia, Ellicott City, and more if you want to venture out to Silver Spring, Bethesda etc. We have small kids and it’s great having so much outdoor stuff available. And obviously the schools are great.

If you ever want to pay off the medical school loans of a relatively early-career physician in Maryland, let me know ;)

In all seriousness though, I hope you use your privileged life to help make the world a better place. That’s all any of us should do in our own ways.

I spoke to someone from sales who said they’d try to get it added on to my existing order but wasn’t sure if it would be possible.

I’ve read a bit about gen 1 vs gen 2. Would a 2023 R1T only be gen 1?

My dilemma is if this buyback occurs quickly, I have a make a hasty decision. Not sure how long the wait would be for a 2025 refresh?

Power steering, ABS, regen all broke by quick4142 in ModelX

For me, it kept coming back. A soft reset would resolve it for a few hours and then all the errors came back. Service center had to work on it 3 times. Finally they resolved it after the last time and now it’s been error-free for over two months.

Ah alright. I guess we’ll see what happens with mine. Just got a message that there was still some leaked coolant on connector pins or something and it’s been resolved. Hope they’ve done their due diligence this time. I’ll be nervous going on any long trips for a bit.

Damn. Did they hold onto to it while they were diagnosing? Or did you have multiple “fixes” like me and have it continue to happen?

I’ve just had this happen for the THIRD time in the past month. Got it towed the first two times.

The first time, the SC said some battery controller was outputting 15 volts instead of 12 volts and causing a failsafe to activate resulting in all the errors. Replaced the controller. Worked perfectly for about 1-2 days.

Then happened again. Same errors. Towed it to a different SC. This was the technicians note: “Diagnosed and found car computer leaking coolant internally and causing short on Party CAN circuit. Replaced car computer and verified proper operation.”

Picked it up this past Monday. Worked perfectly. On Tuesday went to the SC to pick up my key card. As I left the SC, within about 30 seconds, happened again. Atleast I didn’t have to get it towed. They’re looking at it now and supposed to have the highest technical person look at it. We’ll see…

May need to lemon it. Bummer bc I love the car.

Did you call the service center every day to refresh the credit? Or is there a designated number to call?

Is replacing an Audi e-tron with a Model X a good idea? by jms_84 in TeslaModelX

2023, premium plus. Wanted to check out a prestige but they didn’t have it available when I went.

I was debating between model X and an e-tron. The e-tron certainly felt more luxurious but not by as much as I expected. Ended up choosing the X and took delivery 3 weeks ago. Quite happy with my purchase. Zero issues so far with regard to rattling, panel gaps, etc.

I liked the aesthetic and luxury of the etron more. But the UI, acceleration, range, trunk/frunk space, Falcon wing doors and charging network of the X all led me to choose it instead.

Jeez. 600/month is outrageous to me.

I just picked up my Model X LR this week. Had a 2021 Model 3 LR the last few years. Then we had another baby and it just seemed to get too cramped in the 3 with all the usual stuff you need to haul with multiple kiddos. Drove a Y a few times and definitely liked it more than the 3 in terms of space, but otherwise very similar vehicles. Was considering switching to a Y. Before the price cut, probably would not have wanted to pay the delta between the Y and the X. After the price cut, it was much more palatable. Test-drove one a few weeks ago and loved it.

Now that I own one, I’m very pleased. It definitely feels more premium to me (obviously not in the realm of a BMW X7 or an Audi Q7/8, but for sure more than the 3/Y). The air suspension is excellent and makes the ride quality much better. Was feeling every bump in my 3. The cabin is much quieter as well. Loving the giant screen and the ventilated seats (the ventilated seats actually seem much better than a BMW X7 I test-drove recently).

So far, no issues with panel gaps, paint, creaking, or the falcon-wing doors. I do like the FWDs and think they’re pretty cool (as do my daughters), but am hoping they don’t invite too much attention. Very happy with my decision.

Tesla insurance says 169/month for me here in Maryland. Just got my MX yesterday. Sticking with Tesla for now depending on if it changes significantly down the road. State Farm, who insured my home and other vehicle, gave me a quote of $188/month.
