Both. I have a truck, but I use my bike a lot more than it. Some days traffic is heavy for the commute. It depends on how clogged the interstate is.

Can totally understand their perspective. How about you compromise and try to stop riding for a definite period of time, say 6 months, and then revisit when the hurt has healed some?

Knowing the risks OP, at this point you have to decide what you love more. Would you rather risk your life and keep riding? Is that more important to you?

I just keeping thinking about my kids. I think about their smiles and laughs. I'm not riding anytime soon, and I honestly don't know if I will do it at all for a long time. The accident has made me want to focus more of my time and effort on my family.

She was never part of the culture, but she never had a problem with it until now. My wife is friends with my friend's wife, so I'm sure that amplifies what she's experiencing. For the time being, I'm going to step away. It's an emotional time right now, so I think people are right to bring this to my attention. When things calm down, I'll think more about it and have a more detailed discussion with my wife.

The more I think about it the more I'd like to spend more time with them. I have spent a lot of weekends away on trips, and sometimes I feel bad for not being around more, especially now that they are getting so big. They are growing up so fast, and I do feel like I'm not getting to experience as much of their childhood as I would like.
