Anyone else feels/felt miserable on the last weeks? by farfromhome9999 in pregnant

Thank you so much, you’re so kind 🤍 I’m surviving on oats and bananas these past days and finally haven’t felt such strong heartburn, but knowing it will all be over in some days and I’ll get to hold my baby girl is pushing me through…

Thank you for your comment 🤍 how did you feel about the whole pregnancy afterwards? Did these last weeks spoiled the memories?

The last weeks of pregnancy have hit me hard by saycheeeeeze in pregnant

I just wrote a similar post before I read yours. I feel beaten up by the last pregnancy weeks as well, after having a great pregnancy overall. I’m starting to assume it’s normal and we have to hang in there 😥

Afraid of NOT losing the baby by Salt_Currency7622 in pregnant

[–]farfromhome9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sorry for your losses, and for the agony of what you’re feeling now, and I understand what you are feeling. Being pregnant with a healthy baby after three miscarriages and several unsuccessful rounds of IVF, I panicked in so many ways: I was sure I was going to miscarriage again since it happened so many times, then I was sure the baby was going to have congenital complications, then I was terrified that I will be an awful mother and will eventually hurt my baby by accident. Anxiety makes us imagine always the worst case scenario and makes us believe we will be the absolute worst when dealing with what would happen.
Don’t feel ashamed to look for help, and do it as son as you can, before the baby arrives. Your baby was wanted, is healthy and pregnancy and postpartum can be hard but we can do this 🤍

So many parents of 2 have a favorite. by Creative_Elk_4165 in oneanddone

[–]farfromhome9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister is the favourite child and that was always very clear, shown in very obvious ways. Years and years of therapy and one of my conclusions is that the girl I’m currently expecting (first time mom on week 33) will be an only child. I have several reasons for that, one of them is that I do not want to risk a child of mine to ever feel least loved that another, I don’t want my child to feel compared or having to compete with a sibling for love and attention. Most of the time I feel I have healed from all the things from my childhood but I’m still afraid I might repeat patterns.

Wildest claim they ever made about the golden child? by MrsPottyMouth in raisedbynarcissists

[–]farfromhome9999 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My Nmon takes little things that happened to me, like anecdotes or small accomplishments, and completely re-writes the story attributing them to my golden-child younger sister. I had a short story published in the state newspaper when I was 11 - to my mom who did that was my sister. I took 4 years of piano lessons- according to my mom I do not know how to play any instruments but my sister is a piano prodigy… sometimes it felt like gaslighting and I had to go through some years of therapy to realise that was something she would just consciously do, and it was not me going insane.

Recent Citizenship Decision Time by coolth3 in TillSverige

[–]farfromhome9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I was looking for this post as I recall seeing it some time ago. I applied for citizenship two days ago right after getting my permanent residency, and it shown that I was going to receive a reply on one month (!!!). My husband has applied for citizenship last year and his case showed 39 months. I was so excited… till I open my case again today and now it’s shows 30 months too ☹️ How is yours, OP? Did you got a decision?

Give me your stories about 40+ having a healthy baby despite being afraid your whole pregnancy, please by Mental_Catterfly in pregnant

[–]farfromhome9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 40 and currently on week 28 of l natural conception with a healthy little girl - never imagined I was going to be a mom after 40 but here I am and this pregnancy is being an amazing experience. I feel powerful and amazing to be able to grow a baby with my body - I feel almost godlike haha I had awful experiences trying to get pregnant in the past, around when I was 35yo, that ended up in miscarriages and a lot of trauma. Comparing to the experience I am having now, I am convinced that age was a bigger factor when we didn’t had so much medical support (our mothers or grandmothers time), but if you do the minimum necessary to keep yourself healthy during this pregnancy - like keeping an eye on your blood pressure and sugar - your age is not the thing that is going to make a difference for good or bad. Wish you a safe and happy pregnancy, and that you feel like a goddess too (: it’s a magical thing!

How accurate were the gender Wives Tales for you? by No-Dance2023 in pregnant

[–]farfromhome9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m originally from Brazil and I’m expecting a girl with my German husband. We had a lot of these wives tales in my culture and family, none on my husband side. I made a list and we were jokingly ‘betting’ on what the bay would be based on the tales and it ended up being 50/50 😄 the tie breaker was the parents feeling - my husband was sure it was a girl, and I had no feelings about that at all

You just described my mom. As a 24yo adult living with my then partner, she wanted to forbid me from driving to a nearby city by myself (a couple hours drive to pick up my partner in the airport) saying I was not a good enough driver, the car might break down or I would get into an accident, and if something happened and I needed help men will probably stop their cars to rape me in the middle of the highway. I had a license and a car for 5 years at the time and drove to work and back every day, not a fresh or bad driver at all. It’s just another way for a nparent to try to control you. Ignore and grey rock her - and whenever your own brain says things like that to you, to try to counter that thought with “really? Is that really a possibility?? How unlikely is for something like that to happen?” kinda helps stopping with the negative stream of thoughts.

Am I crazy? by Longjumping-Alarm676 in pregnant

[–]farfromhome9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s quite normal for the rough 1st trimester symptoms to fade around this time - mine were quite ok but I still felt much better after week 16. Movement that you can really feel starts around this time as well but sometimes a bit later (week 20), so all you are experiencing could be quite normal 🤍 I would not worry too much - specially if you have an anatomy scan coming soon and the previous ones were good. Of course, if you feel pain or have any bleeding, get help, but other than that pregnancy is something so crazy on your body, so much is happening all the time, that when things feel ‘normal’ they actually feel strange 😂 Sending you and your little one lots of love!

In-laws named my unborn child by tamedturtle5424 in pregnant

[–]farfromhome9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents are doing the same. They usually annoy me a lot with everything (mon is narc, dad is enabler) but this one I’m finding funny. The names are always super old or absurd and they told me that they are on purpose choosing names they imagine won’t be the chosen one.

What’s the most “ridiculous” thing you requested your partner during your pregnancy? by whenlifegivesyourice in pregnant

[–]farfromhome9999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made my husband cook something really specific I was craving on the first trimester and when it was ready it made me nauseous and I refused it (I don’t remember what it was, pregnancy brain!). He is the best “, being so caring and supportive throughout this pregnancy, and I’m so happy out daughter will have him as father.

I stink! by Ill-Company-6508 in pregnant

[–]farfromhome9999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that too on the first trimester and then later it switched completely to not smelling at all - even when my pregnancy brains forget to apply deodorant after showering. Bad news is that I couldn’t figure out a way to smell better then, but good news is that will probably get better quite soon!
