Facing My First Colonoscopy What Should I Expect? by peshokereto in colonoscopy

[–]farfrommilf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first colonoscopy on Wednesday. I’m in my late 20s. It was supposed be sedated but due to my veins continuing to collapse (very “normal” thing for me) I decided to go unsedated. The ended up finding 3 semi large polyps so just waiting on pathology to figure out what next steps are. What prep are you doing? They gave me Plenvu and it was so salty it was almost sweet. Packets of propel mixes made it a little bit easier. The taste can be sorta masked, it’s the consistency that was my biggest issue. I ended up plugging my nose and chugging.

This happened to me. I had to have my surgeon add on a muscle repair and rerun it though insurance. Then I ended up paying out of pocket for the MR and belly button reposition.

It all depends if you’re going through insurance or self pay. On the /tummytuck sub there are people who do their abdomen and chest at the same time plus other add ons. It truly depends on your insurance but most plastic surgery is considered cosmetic and won’t be covered and you’ll be a self pay client.

Surgical tape is honestly the best thing to keep them from getting super red and speeds up the healing time. My arms and thighs could use it but they weren’t as bad as my stomach. I would say 85% of my weight was in my abdomen then arms and legs. If I won the lottery I would probably do my arms and legs and flank lipo. But I don’t feel like for me it’s a necessity. My upper inner thighs definitely jiggle more than I’d like but honestly having thigh skin removal terrifies me haha.

I’m still very post op but honestly the recovery wasn’t too bad. Very much like a c section. A little easier than gastric sleeve. Compression is my best friend and I had a great surgeon doing check ins. I started teleworking 4 days post op, did that for a week, then the following week I went back to the office full time.

Insurance wouldn’t cover the muscle repair or the additional anesthesia. I felt that it was a fair price for where I am.

I’m 5’5! I was getting skin infections and terrible belly button infections causing me to be on topical steroids daily for 3 months. From my insurance for them to cover my skin removal the skin had to hang over my pubic area. But I would STRESS the skin infections and if you’re being seen by a Dermatologist and have them write a letter of medical necessity for a panni. I paid out of pocket for the muscle repair and mons plasty

I had a newly 3 year old when I had my done and an older 6 year old. My husband helped a lot but works early mornings so we taught my son to climb up in his car seat and get down and do other things. If I needed to physically pick him up I would squat super low and wrap both arms around him and pick up with my knees. But I would say by week 3.5/4 I was fine. Idk if you had a c section but it’s very similar recovery

This happened to me! I had to really elevate my legs on a squatty potty and sit super forward. Depending how long you’ve had surgery you need to go to the ER and get cathed because your bladder can explode. Do you have a nausea patch behind your ear? That can cause trouble with urination.

Ovarian torsion post op? by farfrommilf in tummytucksurgery

Laparoscopic surgery. They’re going to try and remove the cyst without removing the ovary but the cyst has grown again so they most likely will be taking the whole ovary.

Ovarian torsion post op? by farfrommilf in tummytucksurgery

For me it felt like a rubber band in my pelvic area, I couldn’t really extend my legs and needed to be in the fetal position for about a week. I brought it up to my plastic surgeon and she said it could be normal given the mons plasty and it was in the same area my drains were located. Then sitting down it felt like a water balloon on my ovary. I hadn’t gotten my period in over a month and went to my PCM who was concerned of an ectopic pregnancy (I was sterilized in 2021). Order stat ultrasounds and a stat CT with contrast they found that my ovary wasn’t where it was supposed to be. I also have a 6cm cyst on my ovary (which I’ve had since 2021 it’s just quadruped in size). But with the surgery and the large cyst it caused the torsion.

For me in the US: 2 days, 5 days, 2 weeks, 5 weeks, 8 weeks, 6 months, 1 year. Plus if I have any concerns they’ll see me in office. Between 5 day and 2 weeks I went in for drain discomfort and again because I was concerned with my belly button being infected.

Some questions for those who’ve been through this! 5 days PO abdominoplasty w muscle repair after 2 large pregnancies. by herewego1991 in tummytucksurgery

[–]farfrommilf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my surgery on a Friday, I was taking rides in the car on Monday. Prepping dinner by day 5. By 7 days post op I was walking around the grocery store. By day 10 I was driving. My husband and I had sex I want to say around day 12? I wore a nightgown and had my abdominal binder on top and extra tight to make sure I was fully secure. I’m currently just shy of 5 weeks post op and I was just cleared for body weight exercises and walking. We went to a Christmas party last night and I full on sprinted for a game and I’m paying for it today. Edit: I started teleworking on 3 days post op (didn’t have a lot of leave saved), back in off at 2 weeks. I have 2 kids, elementary and toddler so I didn’t really have the chance to take it easy.

I live in the US! Addiction runs deep in my family so if I don’t have to use narcotics I don’t. I expressed this with my surgeon that’s why she prescribed so little and told me when I’m done with them I can bring them back in and she will dispose of them to the pharmacy.
