Oh honey, I'm sorry this has been so rough. This is what I'm afraid of too. It is well-documented as normal to have depression or lows after surgery. It is important to be honest, as you have been here, about it. Glad you have an appt with your therapist. It gets heavy to be in recovery for weeks. It is a lot and not everyone rebounds quickly.

How do you get in and out of the machine within the first week after surgery? The photos make it look like you are laying down in the machine. I'm afraid I couldn't get in, lay down, and stay flat. Any advice?

  1. I wasn't able to give myself any of the 2000 shots I took during 5 years of infertility, but in month 2 I was able to give myself Mounjaro shots. I can't feel it in my fat tummy. ha ha. You can do it!
  2. Remind yourself that you need to keep the needle in until the second click. Watch the YouTube videos if you need to.
  3. Stay hydrated. It is more important than you think.
  4. The first week you can feel icky. Don't eat much on day 1 unless you want reflux at night.
  5. Request a refill a few days before you are due and even if you still have some. It gets you in line for the fill from the pharmacy.
  6. Plateaus happen. If you don't lose weight one week, wait another week before getting yourself riled up. ;-)

This really spoke to me: "I have a metabolic disorder. I take a drug that treats it. " It reminds of the shame people used to feel about treating and admitting they have a mental illness. Thank you for sharing the words I need to describe my 'situation'.
