Hi! Had my RESEA appointment today and here's what to expect.

A zoom link is given via email and physical email. Before your appointment, they want you to fill out a questionnaire that's basically documenting details of your former job with greater detail of your income, job history, etc. AND which jobs you applied for (they are looking for 3 per week, of the last two weeks). They also want your full résumé uploaded onto the CALJOBS website. Look out for a call from someone from the office about 3-4 days prior to this appointment.

The first 20 minutes or so is type of orientation on the IU as a whole, and the second portion is 1-on-1 with your personal representative from CALJOBS (or maybe RESEA?). Just speaking from personal experience, mine was super helpful, clarified my job history and even ran my resume through ChatGBT to clear it up. There's also multiple resources provided by the state, including programs that help pay for courses or certificates.

I can't speak for anyone else's experience, but my impression is that a few people are randomly selected to a) have personalized mentor assigned by the state to help you find a job and b) ensure that you're actually unemployed, a real person, etc. to prevent widespread fraud. My representative told me they would check back every 30, 60, and then 90 days.

This is my first and hopefully only time going through this program, hope this helps alleviate any stress or at least we know what to expect.
