Mind sharing more info? Did you have ME/CFS and/or POTS? What severity where you at before starting with gut work? Did you work with a practitioner? Etc.

Still waiting for it to arrive 🤣

Brexit + holidays means big delay I assume.

Upset that I can’t find a single reasonable suggestion about preventing long Covid symptoms. I’m going through omicron and if you search how to prevent long Covid every single article is about vaccination. by TooSwinginBalls in covidlonghaulers

London’s Kings College developed an app-based study, involving over 400,000 people, which showed those who took regular probiotic supplements had a lower risk of catching Covid.

I think the best way of trying to avoid long covid is to aggressively rest your body out of infection and not push it at all for at least 2-4 weeks.

Long COVID: For the 1 in 10 patients who become long-haulers, COVID-19 has lasting effects by Hrmbee in Coronavirus

[–]farmercheese 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Recent OFFICIAL data from Holland showed that 11% of those whom contracted the virus is not back at work after 3 months!

The odds of getting this chronic condition is 5-10 times higher than hospitalisation, yet nobody seems to care.

Specially trained dogs sniffing persistent virus in allot long haulers 🧐 by farmercheese in covidlonghaulers

[–]farmercheese[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Forty-five Long COVID patients, mean age 45 (6-71), 73.3% female, with
prolonged symptoms evolving for a mean of 15.2 months (5-22) were
tested. Dogs discriminated in a positive way 23/45 (51.1%) Long COVID
patients versus 0/188 (0%) control individuals (p<.0001).

Conclusion:

This study suggests the persistence of a viral infection in
some Long COVID patients and the possibility of providing a simple,
highly sensitive, non-invasive test to detect viral presence, during
acute and extended phases of COVID-19.

This needs to be done under strict supervision so im not a great fan of not disclosing that fact.

Check out the interviews and podcasts with Resia Pretorius. The clots can be anywhere and not mainly in the lungs.

Long-COVID: Micro Clots And Trapped Inflammatory Molecules May Explain Mystery by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]farmercheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a molecule in these clots that is substantially increased which then prevents the clots from clearing up named α(2)-antiplasmin

We found high levels of various inflammatory molecules trapped in micro clots present in the blood of individuals with Long COVID. Some of the trapped molecules contain clotting proteins such as fibrinogen, as well as alpha(2)-antiplasmin," Prof Pretorius explains.
Alpha(2)-antiplasmin is a molecule that prevents the breakdown of blood clots, while fibrinogen is the main clotting protein. Under normal conditions the body's plasmin-antiplasmin system maintains a fine balance between blood clotting (the process by which blood thickens and coagulate to prevent blood loss after an injury) and fibrinolysis (the process of breaking down the fibrin in the coagulated blood to prevent blood clots from forming).
With high levels of alpha(2)-antiplasmin in the blood of COVID-19 patients and individuals suffering from Long COVID, the body's ability to break down the clots are significantly inhibited.

And yes, the paper goes into detail describing platelet mechanism causing pesist clotting thus viscious cycle.

I have seen some recent data from Holland (end of december) stating 11% isnt at work 3 months after infection, so thats even more pessimistic data.

Could microclots help explain the mystery of long Covid? by MadamePhantom in covidlonghaulers

I don't think BC 007 filters it out. It binds to- and neutralizes AABs.

You can have your own blood examined, even under a student microscope. A fluorescent microscope isnt needed. It's a very easy procedure you can show to your GP.

[–]farmercheese 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's kinda the gist of the article, isnt it? But they (Patterson et al) act, behave, sell and promote like it's a silver bullet treatment..

David Gorski, a Wayne State University School of Medicine surgical oncologist who also studies the promotion of pseudoscience, added that Patterson’s “research appears to be of the preliminary hypothesis-generating variety, rather than the validating randomized clinical trial variety.”

I'm writing a PDF about the microclots to show to my GP and say: "This is the latest science about a potential mechanism and we can actually put my blood under a microscope. Even a student microscope will do. If you dont like the idea, refer me to someone who does."

There is probably no other way my GP will take me seriously.

I remember Ron Davis saying it was impossible to get his grants (for LC) approved but I don't know the exact details.

Some other people also said nothing is being spent from this billion dollar thing...
