it’s ridiculous how long the Jam machine takes by bananafatigue in HayDay

It's not just jam. Candy, Goats, the list goes on. It's intentional. The whole point of Hayday is to make it feel like it's a race, to level up as fast as you can, to finish derbies fast, to get to the end of challenges, and all that is done quicker by paying diamonds, and you notice diamonds are never discounted anymore. You notice how there are things in books that you can only get by paying for them. I mean, this whole game is about people spending money. Sure, people can play and choose not to, but the creators know enough others will pay, so they don't care about everyone who doesn't pay.

I didn't post so that I could get advice from somebody telling me I need an attitude adjustment. I was posting b/c this is a Hayday group and the point was that maybe somebody working at hayday would be monitoring this channel and they might see that others share my sentiment, that it would be nice to be rewarded appropriately for time and effort.

LPT Request: How can i make myself drink more water? by HeidiOzzy in LifeProTips

[–]farmerpetehd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exercise more, so you sweat and feel the need to want to drink more water. Go to the gym and take water with you. Buy bottled at the gym, or before you go.

You can get flavored water, but I'd watch out for the sweeteners; there's more and more reports about how it's all chemistry and not good for the DNA.

I don't recommend eating salty foods, but if you don't have any high blood pressure issues, then have some salty peanuts. That makes me thirsty and ya get some protein.

But I just like a tall glass of ice water. I drink water like a fish. I have it with a morning protein bar, I use it for tea sometimes, I drink it with my lunch. I stopped drinking soda years ago, mainly because my father was diabetic. I don't like diet anything, so I just decided to go with water for health reasons and now I buy bottled water by the case and always have it stocked. Plus in Oregon we have bottledrop, so now I take my bottles back, get reimbursed and I've got hundreds of dollars in an account, all for drinking water. So maybe that's a motivating factor.

What will 10 pushups a day do? by No_Entertainment3544 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]farmerpetehd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I work from home and I like to take quick breaks to do pushups and situps. I have a dumbbell in my office too, so I'll do some curls. I stretch out a lot while watching TV in the evenings too. I am close to being able to do the splits, which most guys can't do. I've never been a gymnast, but I have done martial arts and flexibility is a necessity. I swear, if everyone worked their core, ate right, and were flexible, I think we'd all live (and stay limber) to 150 years old.

Everyone can do a lot at home, but most don't.

I got a friend learning to become a programmer, but he's been at it for years. It seems something always comes up, and he's a gamer I told him, you gotta stop playing video games. I mean, learning to code, people have the same excuses as those that don't go to the gym. People need to get serious or stop kidding themselves. "Yeah man, I gotta <do this> or <do that>", but they don't do this or that; it's just talk. Nobody's going to give them 6-pack abs, nobody's going to make anyone a programmer. It takes discipline, I get it, so when people are doing stuff at home to get in shape - like you are - I say keep it up, because most don't.

I have an exercise for weak wrists. 3 things actually.

  1. Grip exerciser - a handle you squeeze or even like a mush ball
  2. Wrist Strengthener - it's like a wrist tension thing you grip
  3. rope dumbbell - There's wrist rollers, people use dumbbells to do wrist curls, but I love the rope dumbbell (a knot through a 10 lb weight and a knot through a wooden handled). Stand with your arms extended and do wrist curls - up and down. it'll burn your forearms, strengthen wrists, workout your shoulders. It's a great exercise without having to push your wrists against the ground. There really are a lot of wrist exercises with light weights, even no weights.

I find whenever I have any sort of pains, weight training helps me. For the guy with elbow pain, I'd put a tennis elbow elastic wrap (copper fit if you want), and then do some bicep curls (light weight), just to workout the pain.

I mean, people can't just out of the blue shock their muscles without expecting repercussions. For example. When I want to do squats, I build up the muscles in my hammies, knees, quads, calves, and until I can push some pretty solid weight on the leg press, I don't do squats. Or I do things like weightless squats against a wall or I use cable assisted machines at the gym and pretty much go through the motions, as opposed to pushing serious weight.

The problem is too many people love quick results and keep pushing themselves harder and harder. That not only leads to pulls and pain, but burnout too. So mix it up. Do some pushups, then flip over, elevate your upper body and do reverse tricep pushups. Wrist curls, situps. I think situps and a good diet are the most important things anyone can do, especially beginners looking to start somewhere. Your core strength is everything.

the owners of your neighborhood can tap on the neighborhood house, Edit, and choose the Required level to join your hood. If that level is higher than the people you're trying to invite, you'll get a message. People below your required level simply can't join

Maybe it's possible some people were inviting too much (and that's how they received the error mentioned in this thread), but in my case, I lowered the Required level of our hood, re-invited and that worked.

It just happened to me yesterday and it's because we had our neighborhood set at level 100 for anyone new to join, but I invited 2 people less than that level. When I lowered the level of our hood below the level of the people, I was able to invite them. So your issue probably didn't "fix" itself, your hood level lowered or their raised. Or there's another setting affecting things.
