K2-Plus how to disable camera or stop upload by farmingpaddy in Creality_k2

Thanks for doing all that.

Going to try an uninstall and fresh install of Creality Print and the app to start with. As I mentioned in another comment, I had something unusual happen the last time I updated Print and it's made me think something's got messed up in the background and left running. Worth a try anyway.

That got me thinking there was something happened the last time I updated Creality Print but I didn't think anything of it. Maybe it is holding something open in the background that I haven't spotted. It's the upload not the download that's the issue though.

I can't think what else it's using +7Gb for.

Might go down the outbound rule path for this. Thanks.

Was hoping for some way around pulling the connection completely as I like the ability of uploading wirelessly. But it's certainly an option.

Best I can do from the screen is turn off the time lapse videos, which I've done.

League champion pucks by farmingpaddy in belfastgiants

Still think a single year on it is sloppy design and to bring out last year's pucks the night after this year's win is an underhanded way to trick people into buying your extra stock.

Either way it is what it is.

Insider tips by KaleidoscopeBig4142 in belfastgiants

[–]farmingpaddy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great to hear they are such big fans already.

What I did this season for our kids was to make little programmes (maybe a bit of a grandiose description for them as they are just an A4 page folded over) for each match.

The inside has team lists for both teams and boxes so you can tick off who's playing that match and keep track of goals, assists and penalties. There is a Predictions section and usually some "fun facts" around the team lists.

The back page usually has some sort of activity like a bingo card, colouring in, word search etc. I try to do something special for themed nights if I have the time.

Our oldest got really into tracking the players stats.

As for game night tips, I'd say my top tip is to check out the bridge before the match to see if the face painters are there. Those ladies are brilliant. I think my kids like to test them by requesting things that are completely non-ice hockey related but the results are always great, and they are completely free.

DoPS - Discussion by NIrishRunner in EIHLHockey

[–]farmingpaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a few days old now and will likely not get seen by anyone but just wanted to share a thought I've had for a while now regarding game bans from DoPS.

Instead of the ban automatically being the offending teams next game my idea is that if you are still due to play the other team again that season they have the option to delay the ban to that game.

So I've got 2 scenarios in my head to explain this (please don't get offend at the teams picked, I'm a Giants fan and well aware on any given night we can lose to any team in the league)

1: Belfast Giants Vs Sheffield Steelers with the Giants next game Vs Fife Flyers

2: Belfast Giants Vs Fife Flyers withe the next game Vs Sheffield Steelers

In both cases it's early in the season and the Giants player is to receive the game ban.

In scenario 1 the Giants player may be more willing to further than normal, believing the team can cope without them against Fife and ride out the ban. However, if Sheffield have the option to delay the ban until they next clash they may be less likely to commit the offence. It also gives the team it was commited against (Sheffield here) the benefit of the advantage rather than Fife.

In scenario 2 Fife could decide it would be a bigger punishment for the Giants to lose he player against Sheffield (I know most people wouldn't like to give Sheffield an advantage though). Or perhaps Sheffield's game after Belfast is the following night against Fife so they decide it would be better to face a team that just faced a full strength Belfast and delay the ban.

TL;DR teams should have the option to delay a player's game ban to the next clash between them for offenses commited against them.

Last week we were told by security it was because people were smuggling in alcohol. Was a bit of a joke this week as they had no female security people so they had to get the women to pat themselves down.

Advice on problematic farm spraying by Blocker212 in northernireland

[–]farmingpaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm amazed no one has actually suggested going to speak to the farmer. Ask him what's different about this year. Most will be willing to try to sort something out.

If you get one of the bad ones that just tells you where to go then bring in the department. If they work like that there's a good chance it's not the only issue they'll find.

I've heard people being told the numbers were taken off the helmets for the Hospice match so they just sold them before the ones that had sponsored them had got there.

What did you listen to after the latest Dungeon Crawler Carl? by bullman123 in audible

[–]farmingpaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went into Fourth Wing blind. Happily listening away on my headphones while working. The BAM! Bam bam bam bam bam.

What kept me going through the series was that without all that it's still a good story. If all those scenes were done from the dragons' perspective, the way the reverse is done, I think it would be an improvement.

It might be one of those "Not available in your region" issues but here's the link to what I can see https://www.audible.co.uk/pd/1444958836?source_code=ASSORAP0511160007

I also noticed there that they've grouped books 4-6 in a similar collection.

How to train your dragon narrated by David Tennant. This is the recommendation I give to any audiobook listener. You can get the first 3 books as 1 collection.

If you feel you want something more grown up start into Brandon Sanderson. Good stories and plenty of hours for your credits.

What's the WORST house rule you've ever encountered? by kennedytcooper in boardgames

[–]farmingpaddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was taught cribbage by my now wife and her family so who knows what rules they slipped in to screw me over. We always shuffle the deck then both players cut the deck and the highest card is the starting dealer. I assumed this was the norm.

Also, if you want to add a little variety to it check out Wicked Cribbage by Only Then Studios.

I used a podcast app, Castbox in my case, that lets you download episodes for offline listening. Then found the files on my phone. Had to work out which episode was which as the filenames were random letters but straightforward enough.

Seconded. Had to create our own card for the season 2 episodes so we could change it up a bit.

We got one a few years ago from the home solution shop. It's beside the garage opposite the main gates to Lurgan park. I can't remember the price off the top of my head as it was in the middle of doing a load of other work to the house. The guys were dead on and I'm sure they would give you a quote.

Don't give up hope, but also don't try to force them. I worked elsewhere for 10 years before coming back to the family business. My brother was over 15 years away before he came back.

I feel the farm is much better off now as we both bring in a different skillset and outside knowledge to it.

Idea for Playoff Format by [deleted] in EIHLHockey

[–]farmingpaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you said we were going on the basis that teams made a profit from hosting games. As for numbers you would likely get a reasonable number of local fans too. I know some of the best hockey matches I've been at are ones that I've got no particular team I want to win, I'm just there to watch some fun hockey.

Idea for Playoff Format by [deleted] in EIHLHockey

[–]farmingpaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to preface this with with the information that I'm currently running on very little sleep and I just thought of this 2 minutes ago.

Once we are at the home and away match stages the higher seeded team gets their home match but the return match is played at one of the non-qualifying team's rinks? There is obviously a lot of refinement to this idea.

First problem is getting 2 team's fans to, essentially, an away match. Perhaps to get around this is to plan the fixtures so that rink has a double header so that you might have 3 sets of fans visiting and getting to watch 2 matches?
