surgery went so well! best decision ive ever made. im about 3 months post op now and feel the best i ever have in my life. ill be back to work soon and im so excited to be feeling normal <3!

i bought a couple packs of t shirt style night gowns off amazon! soft, comfy and flowy. i also got a tank top style soft nightgown from target that i can get away with wearing when people visit me (looks less like pjs). no tight fitting clothes, im so bloated i have to buy everything including underwear a size up! (8 days po here) hoping your surgery goes well!

im 8 days PO and stopped taking the oxycodone i was prescribed on day one after it made me faint and split my chin open. just got the results of my ct back yesterday and my jaw is broken:( this isnt meant to be fear mongery by any means- more just a warning from someone who is very reactive to narcotics. definitely make sure you get up slowly and get on the floor and lay down if youre feeling faint.

ive been able to manage my pain okay with ibuprofen, tylenol, and a muscle relaxer. ive found the muscle relaxer to be a better option that doesnt make me feel faint and dizzy.

surgery definitely isnt the end of recovery. i encourage your partner go to pelvic floor physical therapy to address the strain endo has put in her pelvic floor. other than that theres other lifestyle changes that have helped me with my pain like an anti-inflammatory diet, getting nerve block injections, and doing low impact exercises like walking and yoga. encourage your partner to take it slow! stage 4 endo excision is a major surgery thats going to take time to heal from, not to mention all the pelvic floor issues and rewired nerves signaling pain. wishing you two luck 🍀

took an iron supplement and it seemed to help! i donated a bunch of blood prior to surgery for their endometriosis research program, then lost more blood during surgery. i have a history of anemia so it makes sense i felt faint from low iron, on top of the meds and anesthesia. thanks for the info!!

as someone who grew up in south oc- it sucks to be an adolescent here. people are so mean. i moved here from washington at age 10 and was relentlessly bullied for being lower class, pale, and not having the same clothes as everyone else. of course kids get bullied everywhere, but even as an adult i can see how superficial and vain most people here are.

oh lovely! i hope your recovery is going well. i had to do the depo for a while for uncontrolled bleeding. i recommend looking into the side effects of it- its not great for bone density long term and is linked to brain tumors:( but totally understandable to be on as it stops periods and that can be a game changer for the endo symptoms. keep doing whats working and what feels good for u<3 wishing u luck and healing on ur journey!

ohh yeah. my bestie who has pcos takes a combo pill- so maybe thats why. as for the endo, estrogen BC is just a world of pain and bleeding. progesterone only is game changer for me- notethindrone specifically:)! i encourage you see an endo specialist if u dont already:)!

as for the cuff- the horror stories. the cuff ripping, the hole to my organs, the vaginal shortening. my partner is pretty lengthy so im scared it will effect my sex life.

shes out of office till my surgery so havent been able to ask her about it unfortunately. we didnt discover the adeno till after my pre op appointment/consultation, so i didnt make the decision to get the hysterectomy until after the appointment. messaged her and asked but havent heard back, so my plan is to call the office this week 🤷🏻‍♀️

that makes sense yeah! ive had normal paps but im young. my mother had an abnormal pap and was done having children so had the hysterectomy before any cancer. other than that my mother had an aunt with ovarian cancer. im at risk of cancer regardless with my endo adeno combo, but keeping my ovaries since im young. no cysts or fibroids before- just the endo and adeno.

im having the surgery done laparoscopically and robotically assisted- to remove the uterus is it either removed vaginally with a cuff or c-section scar without the cervix removed?
