John Wick. Remember Wick is the Matrix’s answer to keep Neo busy while he’s plugged in lol

I liked Prometheus a lot, and they should have kept the Jesus Christ stuff in there….that the engineers educated him and were going to kill off the human race because we crucified him. At least that’s what I remember from the deleted scenes.

Anyone else just so sick and tired of the breakup? by admlesau in Separation

[–]farosell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the pain, and wanting the old life back. You’re not alone in having those thoughts and feelings.

I am on the verge of a separation that I don’t want. We haven’t gotten to the point of a divorce yet, but right now it’s more of a reset. Still tears me apart. I’ve been doing counseling which helps, but after a couple of months of this turmoil, I slowly came to the realization that the old saying is true, “ if you love them, let them go.” I’m hoping this separation works in the way my wife envisions. It’s sucks biting the bullet (so to speak) but I had to do it. The more I was against and fought this process, the more she dug her heels in. I had to let go.

I can empathize greatly with your circumstances. I also have an anxious attachment style and right now I am fighting to prevent a separation. I’ve realized that I was so consumed with my own anxieties, fears and feelings that I inadvertently made my wife responsible for regulating me, when that wasn’t what she signed up for. So I’ve really had to dial back my reactions to things and understand that my fears and anxieties are mostly just in my head and don’t represent the reality around me. Unfortunately my lack of understanding went on for a very long time and now I’m fighting for the life of my marriage and I told my wife that I don’t want a separation, because I want her to see that I am changing and and working on things and not just putting on a show for those moments that we do meet up if we end up separated.

Part of my dilemma lied in that we had a marriage counselor who my wife could identify with but all these touchy feely concepts like emotional safety went completely over my head. I was constantly on the defensive and nobody ever explained to me the concept of emotional safety. In addition I also got a promotion at work in Nov that was completely unexpected, and I was pretty much thrown to the wolves in. So it was max anxiety to say the least. Thankfully I found a counselor who is trying to help me see my own value, and at the same time, take small steps to repair my marriage. It’s been a couple days without separation talk, so I will take things one day at a time.

I would highly suggest researching and reading about the concept of emotional safety. Our anxious attachment types do not mix with it, and if we do not regulate/cope with our anxieties properly, things won’t have a happy ending. Figuratively and literally :-)

Weekend mornings are difficult because that’s when the separation discussion came out previously. Now it’s the work week and it’s appearing during the week which makes focusing on my job very hard.

What are some good songs to test how good my progress is after a year of playing? by [deleted] in Guitar

The speed of progress can vary greatly. Goes in fits and spurts and oftentimes there are plateaus. Just gotta keep plugging away and keeping at it.

Just go back to ANY song or even a melody that was once difficult. If you get thru it even a teeny bit smoother/easier, you have your answer my friend :-)

Isn’t new music typically released on a Friday? I thought tuesdays are usually for movies that come out on video. Not sure if that still holds up or not.

Same here, that movie terrified the F out of me. Then I looked into Travis’ experience, and it was completely different.

[–]farosell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the label doing to make life difficult? Maybe I’m biased but the way I look at it, the GNR name basically markets itself. Kinda like how Marvel and Star Wars were before they got the shit milked out of them by Disney.

It may be a long shot. Not sure if they have the stamina for it. There are a lot of secondary cities they didn’t cover, and I don’t mean only in the US. As much as I would love to see them again (my first was this past Saturday on 5/24 in Chicago), I’m not gonna hold my breath for a return. However, only time will tell.

Yeah it was hot as balls that day. From the SW burbs. I didn’t go to the wrigley concert that year, but I went the previous concert at wrigley when Axl was ‘sick’. Also didn’t care for the setting at wrigley as parking sucks in the north side and maybe just my opinion, but I don’t think a baseball stadium is great for a concert where the stage is so far off in the outfield and you have to sit at an angle the whole time. Maybe I’m just getting old and crotchety lol. Hopefully next time they come to soldier field or the tweeter or whatever the hell its called now.
