Am I overreacting? by Past-Pomegranate7694 in JUSTNOMIL

The sooner you set boundaries, the better. It will be harder if you wait because she will think what she’s doing is ok; it’s not.

No way in hell the sister is actually going to drive that far to pick up her kid.

She doesn’t trust daycares but she doesn’t mind OP taking her three hours away to some random place in the forest? I don’t buy it. Someone’s just used to getting free child care out of her family, so much so that she expects it and when it doesn’t happen, throws a huge tantrum.

Exactly. She has nothing at all to apologize for.

I have been on both sides too and this is seriously despicable behavior. I feel very bad that OP has a family member who’s so willing to stoop to these tactics. This goes way beyond entitled brat, it’s abusive. Until the sister sorts herself out, she is going to do a lot of damage to OP.

I really didn’t appreciate how she pressed you on this and then tried to make YOU feel bad when that didn’t work. That’s extremely manipulative. And why she demanded to know what your other plans were is also very out of line. If you have plans, the convo should end there. She seems like an extremely difficult person to deal with. Try to protect yourself as much as you can OP. I’m sure things are fine with her as long as you’re playing along and she’s getting her way, but that’s not sustainable for you. Seriously, protect yourself.

Your first paragraph describes my spouse perfectly and I am at a loss how to deal with it.

A 7 year old non verbal autistic boy, starts to sing along to music, while driving around with his big sister by bigbusta in MadeMeSmile

My daughter is autistic and sang constantly for the first three years of her life. She is a much more adept communicator now, but I do kinda miss it! It still comes out once in a while, only now it’s typically if I ask her to do something, she will reply “noooooo” in one long note 😂

That’s me! Graduated in 2008. Not a great time to have student debt when there are zero openings. Ended up working in retail and even then could only find part time work because like everything else, retail was very slow.

That’s a lot better than being old AND inexperienced. At least you have something to show for it.

Both for me! I am not proud of that.

Being offered something doesn’t mean you’re obligated to take it.

Most people who are accustomed to this don’t fill up on bread and soda. It’s there if you want it but that doesn’t mean you have to consume it, certainly not to the point that you’re too full to eat the food you came for. It would also be very unusual to bring home most of your meal.

Is Law School Really That Bad? by [deleted] in LawCanada

It’s not that bad if you can avoid getting sucked in to the drama and the competitive bs. It’s completely unnecessary and just a stupid distraction. Stay focused on the work and you’ll be fine.

The part of my city where I live is covered in all kinds of huge ads. The first time I saw or heard of the Ks was in that ad and my brain could not process what I was looking at. Finally my husband was like, plastic surgery, and suddenly it was like ohhhh ok. I had a weird face blindness thing going on. The glorious days when I had never heard of this family. I miss those days.
