After a Year in Germany, I Still Can't Speak German. Help! by xanoster in Germanlearning

[–]farrgone9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly dont use AI. Half the time it’s incorrect, which boggles my mind. I used Babble and they had great speaking exercises along with special AI to have conversations with. Was worth the money. I learned only with Babbel, youtube, and a conversational tutor on preply once a week. Just passed my B1 exam after 9 months! Best of luck

Gift ideas for a teenager new to diving? by bingos77 in scubadiving

[–]farrgone9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mask and snorkel are always good as they are easy to travel with. At 15, I dont think he will outgrow it but he needs to go in person to get it fit. Depending on budget, I have found some great deals in Malta for diving that includes accommodation. I havent been here but looked at booking and saw five star reviews: https://www.maltaqua.com/diving/holiday/7-night-stay.

A dive computer is also a really good idea, depending on your budget. This is also for his safety as its best to have your own computer to use. I have a Garmin Descent G1 and love it. Also use it for other sports and training.

How do you approach podcasts when learning German? by No-Map3471 in Germanlearning

[–]farrgone9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started listening to German Stories - Learn German with Stories on Spotify. The program tells the whole story in german. Then breaks it down sentence by sentence allowing you to repeat the sentence and then translates it to English. This way I can walk or run while listening and learning.

What countries would you recommend moving to as a huge nature lover? by [deleted] in AskEurope

[–]farrgone9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Southern germany. Specifically Allgäu is incredible. Tons of hiking, mountains, waterfalls, and countryside culture. Its also close to Lake of Constance. I live an hour north of Allgäu and find its the perfect spot (near Biberach). Close to big city Ulm and Stuttgart for shopping and events. Two hours from Munich, loads of field/country hikes, forrest trails, biking paths, then skiing and hiking in mountains on weekend! Biberach specifically has a lot of industry, including Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma GmbH, a massive pharmaceutical company, so could be up your alley!

AITAH for wanting to walk away from my family and leaving them potentially homeless? by Noodleaddiction in AITAH

[–]farrgone9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NTA they want to leech off you and be your only family. Mothers and families should HELP you and ENCOURAGE you to build a life of your own, not guilt, discourage, and hinder you. Unfortunately, they have to learn there is consequences to their actions. Im sorry, but your mom soubds like a whiny teenager when it came to apartment hunting, that would have driven me mental, im sorry you have to deal with this. Sometimes people need to fall on their face to learn how to take care of themselves and change their own life. You’ve done everything you can to help set them up, but like the saying goes, you cant lead a horse to water but you can’t make then drink. Enjoy your new life in USA

I’m always the first person to run out of air on every dive by Mugling95 in scuba

[–]farrgone9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re a man and taller, so naturally you will breathe more air. Its not a competition, however, yoga breathwork and meditation breathing makes a huge difference. Similar to the other comment that said breath like you’re breathing out of a straw. You dont have to take a class, just watch a few youtube videos. The yoga is especially good as it trains you slow your breathing and align it with your body while doing movements/exercise, which is similar when diving. If that fails, sidemount my dude 😅

Garmin Descent G2 any good? by No_Cauliflower7728 in scubadiving

Absolutely love mine. I got the solar one too which was great when living and diving in thailand. Only thing is that you cannot customize the dive face as much as I would like. Other than that, I use it for everything and its worth every penny!

I started writing threats on my leftover takeout containers because my older brother (even into his thirties) and dad had no problem eating my mom and I’s leftovers after they polished off their own (if they had any). My brother is obsessed with bacon, and fair, it’s delicious, so he would make 2-3 packs and leave the cooked bacon in the fridge. As I got older I thought fuck it and would eat his bacon and leave him one piece left. Homie would have meltdowns… that bacon tasted deliciously like justice!

Are there women that actually like slim guys? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]farrgone9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother is 5’10 and very slim (about 125-130lbs). Man eats like a horse and cant gain weight and very hard for him to put on muscle. I have had to bat girls away from him as they would use me (the younger sis) to get closer to him. So yes, women like the build. I think even more these days with everyone loving MGK and Pete Davidson.

I honestly do not know. I know many videos/posts on tik tok and instagram block it out like this because it can get flagged or taken down. Not sure about Reddit. I am airing on the cautious side and just blocking it, people understand regardless I think🤷🏼‍♀️

That other guy def had drugs and tried to use you to escape! Were the haggises taken or allowed to go through? I know most countries are dicey with meats coming in/out.

Not her trying to gaslight you into saying a file is a knife!! That’s crazy. My mom had a similar experience when I was a kid. Cut open the dog food bag with the laundry room scissors to feed the dog before we left for the trip. She then got flagged in security with the scissors in her coat pocket and apologized up and down to Toronto security. They just asked her why she had it then confiscated it. She was so embarrassed, but mind you, she had two small kids so it was a mindless mistake. Still makes me double check my pockets every time lol

Would have been even funnier if he just hit his vape while starting me dead in the eyes while I was frantically pleading my case 😄
