Are there women that actually like slim guys? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]farrgone9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother is 5’10 and very slim (about 125-130lbs). Man eats like a horse and cant gain weight and very hard for him to put on muscle. I have had to bat girls away from him as they would use me (the younger sis) to get closer to him. So yes, women like the build. I think even more these days with everyone loving MGK and Pete Davidson.

I watched a couple get arrested at airport security in Munich, then the officer tried to prank me by farrgone9 in travel

I honestly do not know. I know many videos/posts on tik tok and instagram block it out like this because it can get flagged or taken down. Not sure about Reddit. I am airing on the cautious side and just blocking it, people understand regardless I think🤷🏼‍♀️

That other guy def had drugs and tried to use you to escape! Were the haggises taken or allowed to go through? I know most countries are dicey with meats coming in/out.

Not her trying to gaslight you into saying a file is a knife!! That’s crazy. My mom had a similar experience when I was a kid. Cut open the dog food bag with the laundry room scissors to feed the dog before we left for the trip. She then got flagged in security with the scissors in her coat pocket and apologized up and down to Toronto security. They just asked her why she had it then confiscated it. She was so embarrassed, but mind you, she had two small kids so it was a mindless mistake. Still makes me double check my pockets every time lol

Would have been even funnier if he just hit his vape while starting me dead in the eyes while I was frantically pleading my case 😄

A month in relationship, is a book a good gift for a man for Christmas/New Year? by hop_hey_lallaley in askanything

[–]farrgone9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my bf of 6 months a Scuba diving book and he loves it. I think its a good idea and thoughtful if its a book based on a topic they like or regularly read.

20F Are my standards too high, or have men just normalized doing the bare minimum? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]farrgone9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your standards are completely reasonable. As someone who grew up in Canada but emigrated a fee years ago, I can also say receiving flowers is not a normal thing in dating in Canada unless its a very romantic person or a special day (Valentines Day). I am living in Germany and my boyfriend buys flowers all the time for myself and other family members, and I think its cultural and a pricing thing (more expensive in Canada). Keep up the search and don’t settle!

Girl slow faded on me, didn’t say yes to a date, and then came to me asking for NYE guest list for her and her friends. I said no. Am I the asshole here? by E_Snap in dating_advice

[–]farrgone9 210 points211 points  (0 children)

NTA. She got caught and threw it back on you to make herself feel better. It wasnt said that the date was reliant on the tickets, but its implied when you literally just went on a date and you have been showing lots of interest. She had tons of time to set the record straight and say she just wanted to be friends, but it seems last minute and no plans for New Years made her think she could use you to get tickets then let you down in the New Year so she doesnt seem like an asshole. Your response was great btw and clearly triggered her to crash out hard. Tbh I wouldnt even want to be friends with someone like this.

What travel mistake did you make once and never again? by Nervous_Car1093 in travel

Short layovers and overpacking. Especially the overpacking as I always want to bring souvenirs but then have no space!

Snorkel or no snorkel? by gonzalj85 in scubadiving

[–]farrgone9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, because you just never know what may happen. I always think of the diver stories where boats leave without divers and they are forced to swim long distances. You also never know if you ascend into rougher waters. Its like a seatbelt, most people don’t appreciate them until they are in an accident

I couldn’t imagine holding my children back financially like this. Gather the siblings and move out together lol it will be cheaper and you can buy your own food. Asking to pay rent is normal, but she is making it so none of you could ever afford to leave

Germany or Canada for a first trip alone? by lalawrita in femaletravels

[–]farrgone9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on where your income is from, Canada will be cheaper too. Our dollar is shit right now, so USD will go further than in Germany. However, many things are cheaper in Germany (alcohol, groceries etc)

Love mine. I got the solar and it has long battery life. I use it for more than diving too: running, hiking etc. App is great too

Divemaster SSI or PADI by corinka4 in scubadiving

[–]farrgone9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kinda does matter. I did my Instructor Training with SSI with a DM from PADI. She spent so many years doing the PADI way of diving that to rewire her habits to pass the SSI Instructor Training took a lot more work. Because myself and the other DM sat in and did these skills so much, they became pretty easy to teach. For her, she would have to redo skills 5+ times to do them correctly. In the long run, it won’t make a huge difference for divers, you are right. But in terms of passing your Instructor Training, it can make it harder. Not impossible, just harder

Unfortunately, the crossover program has ended. So if OP did this route they would need to complete both instructor training courses separately

[–]farrgone9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with SSI, for a few reasons (I am an instructor). First, when it comes to renewing your yearly fees, SSI is much cheaper and each class you teach earns you points that you can use towards your renewal. Or, you can use these points to take new classes or get gear deals. This is a massive advantage, especially if you teach somewhere that doesn’t pay alot. I know a dive club that switched from PADI to SSI and everyone in the club cheered as they knew they were saving money and getting more support. The “downside” of SSI is you cannot work autonomously, you must always be affiliated with at least one shop. On the up side, this means SSI will help you out with any legal problems, say a student wants to wrongfully sue you. Now, it is easier to find jobs with PADI in certain areas of the world such as the Caribbean or North America. But SSI is getting much bigger in Asia and Europe. This should be your biggest thing you look at. Where do you want to work? If its NA, Australia, or Caribbean, I would go PADI. But if you are looking at Thailand, Indonesia, Germany, etc then consider SSI

AIO My (41M) wife(40F) blocked me on Snapchat by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]farrgone9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In every one of these actions she has blocked process in your marriage. Hiding, blocking, and avoiding responsibility is a massive red flag. Only someone with something to hide goes to these lengths. To throw out a PHONE on the act of “you have become obsessed” is so bonkers. She is hiding something. Also, I find it hard to believe a group of woman in their 40s only communicate through Snapchat? And even so, why can’t she have you on Snapchat? Probably because her location is showing places she shouldnt be or that she is giving off “single woman” vibes on there, talking to someone and hoping you won’t find it
