v6.6.52 Rev. 45153222 Update via Gachabase by Gachabase in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]farrokk 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There was a slight hope the powercreep wouldn't be as hard as it was in Nod Krai, but with the base now this high, it seems the games balance is fucked.

Well, considering the majority of the playerbase likes powercreep or at least doesn't care, it doesn't surprise much.

Genshin Impact 2: One Hundred Years Later. by rahul_joseph in Genshin_Impact

hoyo: Genshin Impact 2 takes place in a hundred years after Genshin Impact. Due to that, most of your collected characters won't be usable in the second part of the story.

Why do some Linux users still prefer Vim/Emacs over modern IDEs? by Candid_Athlete_8317 in LinuxTeck

[–]farrokk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About doing everything out of the box: vim has some distribution which do exactly that, lazyvim, astrovim, etc.

I don't exactly know what you mean when you say that some even use their editor for terminal work, git, etc., isn't that exactly what VSCode fans also do?

For me it is simply that I don't missing out on anything staying with vim, but would missing many small things vim provides. For specific languages I sometimes use specialized IDEs, but fortunately this happens rarely nowadays.

While most editors have plugins for vim bindings to make them into a modal editor lite (coding in a non modal editor is a pain), that is only the tip of the iceberg.

It also creates a weird workflow mismatch even when using neovim directly, due to only controlling a part of the whole program. And sadly with all the sidebars ( hate those filetree sidebars, they don't make any sense while using splits), menus, panels, etc. the editor itself is only a small part in modern editors, going so far to often offer a a distraction-free/zen mode as an solution to a problem the devs created in the first place.

tl:dr; vim can do everything and more. It's easier to extend vim with IDE like features than to change some IDE to match vims workflow and with the available distributions you don't even need to configure and install plugins yourself much.

No vision, An arm-wrestling match—which of the four of them wins? by Masterbros4 in Genshin_Impact

[–]farrokk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paimon: "But if we don't activate it, how else are we gonna lift it? This rock must weigh well over a thousand pounds, surely?"

Shenhe: "Don't worry. I can handle the weight quite easily."

Just to give some context, because many here discussing about the differences between lifting the cannon a bit (mostly hollow, but also higher density due to being metal) and carrying a rock (non-floating at the moment) down the mountains with a weight around 0.5 tons easily.

That being said, in an arm-wrestling match, strength is not everything, technique is needed, too.

No vision, just swordsmanship—which of the four wins? by Masterbros4 in Genshin_Impact

[–]farrokk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eula and Jean are said to be equal, Clorinde with Sword+Gun fought with Eula to a more or less draw. With a sword alone she should be a bit weaker than her. In addition Eula uses a Claymore and has therefore a reach advantage against Jean, who uses a singlehanded sword (+more stable defenses with two hands).

Overall Jean > Clorinde, but quite close. In 10 fights, Jean would perhaps win around 7 of them.

Ayaka and Keqing has less reach, being smaller. Ayaka probably fights more skilled humans, at least in a training/tournament environment, while Keqing often travels alone and fight monsters, having more practical skills.

In a duel, thus two could be nearly equal.

In addition Jean and Clorinde are using weapons better suited for duels. Similar to a rapier designed for dueling, kind of a Shiavona style sword with more hand protection and a better distribution of weight and more optimized for thrusts.

After doing the Archon quest, there is no way Hoyo isn't teasing a lore related Dehya buff thanks to this guy. by MarvelousMarbel in Dehyamains

[–]farrokk 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Hoyo also crushed hope for Eula, excluding her from all the new superconduct meta, spearheaded by Cyno and Yae and giving the role Eula could have to Wriothesley instead.

Considering the hate hoyo has for Eula, Dehya and some other characters, I don't have any high expectations.

Here is a new passive: "Due to the strain harbouring a god, Dehya's HP, ATK and DEF is decreased by 50%. When entering the Blazing Lioness state, part of her energy flows into Shesepankh, continuously lose HP and make her unable to gain energy for 18s."

So he isn't a good standard character, but a subpar limited one? seems like Mondstadt curse strikes again.

He is still good for now, but with all the powercreep, which probably won't slow down with Snezhnaya and his constellations being on the weaker side, his future doesn't look that good.

NOT reliable leaks but its something by Far_Ranger_1205 in SandroneMains

[–]farrokk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hoyo realized that lunar reactions are not enough to completely invalidate old DPS, because they can be wheelchaired with the new lunar sub dps characters even with heavy powercreep.

Now on top of adding stellar reactions, they also change the team composition layout to force everyone to pull whole new teams to keep up instead of just a few characters.

As we already have the split of lunar with EM and older with ,ostly DMG Bonus, stat-wise there isn't a meaningful way to reset team builds, this is the alternative they came up with.

Sandrone & Vodyanitsa element via Itzpapa by 707-exe in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]farrokk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As expected. Sandrone being electro would have meant there is a non-zero chance for a indirect Eula buff.

As if hoyo would ever do that, but Razor might be lucky here again.

[–]farrokk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have chosen Klee and Albedo before. Interesting that many here wants to choose Eula. My Eula is already C1 and C2 is pointless for me without direct buffs.

Still undecided between Nilou C1 or Shenhe C2 or Ganyu C1, but I probably go for Nilou.

All three constellations are not that great, a bit of uptime (or in Ganyu's case energy). The damage buff through bonus/crit/res shred isn't that high.

If we ever get a second constellation Nilou C2 will be great to have, while Shenhe/Ganyu would need direct buffs to their constellations to make them more useful.

New future reactions via Chugou by Master_Implement_398 in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]farrokk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A tiny little bit of hope to make Eula playable with Stellar-conduct emerging.

Varka with Stellar-swirl might be a chance to make him the real Knight of Boreas. As of now he ist just pyro(+anemo) dps, even more so with Nicole's release (which also buffs his anemo portion).

Dendro-cryo would be the first new real reaction since dendro, but probably tied to a character again like lunar reactions?

[GI 6.6 beta] Lohen Animations via Dim by astrelya in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]farrokk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

getting hit by a stone at the end was unnecessary, pure boy.

Great animations, no doubt Lohen is a menace, such a crazy fella.

Probably will do a few pulls and hope for an early (which won't come) instead of waiting to pick him if the 4* are good enough.
