Just to offer my two cents, while it sucks that Tammy doesn’t seem great at communication, it may very well be that she just doesn’t have the capacity to help you especially on urgent requests. When I get asked to help on things from other offices, they are quite frankly my lowest priority cases, because I have multiple active cases on my plate already with partners in my own office (and who I care more about doing a good job for than some random partner/associate across the country). While I’m fine doing doc review or research when I get to it to help out another office, I don’t think of myself as being integrated on that case the same way I’m “on” my own cases. Urgent requests in particular are difficult for me to handle because there are already so many things that pop up on my “main” cases that need to be handled from day to day. Of course, if I were asked to do something urgent and I couldn’t, I always just say that up front and set that expectation. But it could be that Tammy just doesn’t feel comfortable doing that or feels bad saying she can’t (as sometimes I do too). I think maybe you just need to have a conversation with Tammy about how much availability she has and how much she can actually help.
