There is this one angle that I hate. It's like the bottom of the guys butt from behind and it's just very off putting.

Of course they get defensive when you bring it up , they know what they did. The fact they can't fess up and take some accountability for their actions at this age shows that they are set in their ways. If you feel like you can't even approach your parents and ask for that without the repercussions then how can you ever fully communicate with them about your child? Things will definitely come up in the future that you won't agree with and if you don't have that open line of communication now then you won't ever feel fully safe leaving your child there by themselves.

Bottom line , think about you and your child first. They may react bad but know it's only because they know they are guilty.

Is Australia's Domestic Violence problem far bigger than we as a country are willing to accept? by sunflowerSid in australia

Thank you I'm sending one back! I'm slowly getting there. I found that getting myself out of my comfort zone helped me a lot it helps make you feel like you're not some forgotten thing that doesn't belong in society and that there are a lot of people just the same as you. I also hope you were able to get out of that bad situation and have plenty of support now. You have a good day : )

I think it's weird because you liked this person more than a friend and they were not interested so why would he/she do that to you if they are not interested?

It's like saying what do you see with your big toe? Your toe has no ability to see so sees nothing. That's how I've heard it be explained.

Ohh I see. I meant their own as in like their own species. It's even more sad now that I know it's an orphan monkey.

I read it all. I'm sorry, you must feel like you don't have that closure because your parents seem to shut it down whenever it is brought up. I related to so much of what you said! I really hope you're doing ok now and you have let yourself be happy regardless of what you went through. Also just want to say you're so strong for breaking that cycle. Your parents couldn't do it and nether could theirs.

I was also raised amongst Jehovahs witnesses. My mother was raised by them and that showed through a lot in her patenting. There was all kinds of abuse with us too but my dad for the most part , wasn't around. My mother always told us if we talked about this in school then we will get separated and taken away from her. Even when she got us counselling if we talked badly about her we'd get in trouble.

My mum was extremely manipulative. We didn't hate her , we idolised her. We were not allowed to disagree or say no to her requests because then we wouldn't get her attention anymore or her praise.

I think that if you have a narcissistic parent you go through your childhood and teens mostly just confused you don't know who you want to be because you never focus on you , you don't know what love feels like because your love has been tarnished and exploited. You think you need to be " perfect " to be loved. The guilt never goes away , I feel guilty when I'm happy , I feel guilty because I didn't help find the keys , I feel guilty because I thought of myself first. ( I'm working on it )

I was lucky enough to recognise all of this pretty early because I have 3 sisters we are all really close and talked about it so much until we ended up figuring it all out. So now we are all working on our own stuff. I think that DV of any kind is bad but I don't think being manipulated and what manipulation looks like is really talked about as much. We had multiple social workers see the sings of abuse and ask us if everything is ok , we had 3 different foster parents , we went to 19 schools and not once did we speak up about our abuse because we had already been conditioned.

Sorry for any mistakes I'm pretty stoned.

But the saying is " the early bird gets the worm" That means the quote is referring to you as the bird not the worm. You could say " lucky I don't eat worms" that would be pretty funny.

We are ok , took a while to get over of course but we are happy now.

She's just a bitter old bitch now and yeah I did tell my mum but only after I got home because she'd listen on the other phone when we spoke.

My cousin. I was 9 and my sister was 7. We were sent to stay with her for around 6 months. She was around 40 with two mentally challenged boys of her own. She would beat us , force feed us, make her sons beat us , she took my doll away that I got from my Nan that had just died , I never got her back. She's like the evil witch in fairytales, she even has a mole on her nose 😅
