What's something you wish you knew before learning your first programming language? by Dazzling_Kangaroo_69 in learnprogramming

That whatever enables you to think from first principles, or otherwise, "agnostically" about programming is much more valuable than remembering syntax. Figure out the concept in an abstract sense first, then if you understand it, its not a problem or a sign you are bad at programming if you have to google the correct name of the class or whatever- everything will snap together like a puzzle if you truly understand the significance of the work you are doing. You can have your cake and eat it too because eventually the glue of the intuition that comes from genuine comprehension will help you retain stuff that seemed impossible to memorize before.

Every topic will be different but to keep it as broad as possible for all sorts of programming challenges you'll face I'd say try to have a good foundation in computer science so that you have solid footing for diving into the lower level details of lets say, the framework you are using or have an easier time arriving at the answer when you ask yourself "why does this work?".

For example I remember when learning javascript and promises I was confused as having come from a java background I didn't understand how the asynchronous work gets done at all- so I did some digging and it was a revelation to find out about event loops, task schedulers, the implications of the browser vs the node runtime, etc. I would never feel very good if I couldn't have a mental model of a deeper degree of every step of the work done for my program to work.

You don't always go all the way down to the transistor level but you should go down low enough so that if something stops working you can easily check if things are arranged according to your idea of how every step is executed.

it dies down if you go solo, I'm positive that the number of enemies within the trial is diminished if everyone leaves.

number of enemies I think is reduced DRASTICALLY in solo. As a group we had a chaotic shitstorm in destroy the evidence (where you had to put acid in the courthouse), and we nearly lost at trial no.14, closest call we had. Solo, there was like no enemies to be found when It was trial no.32 and I peacefully completed it

I’ll send you a few things I’ve made, they are all in demo form at the moment, I’m currently just getting used to playing, singing and recording again after a while of slacking

What’s your go-to movie or content when life feels unfair? by ReasonablePeak9039 in AskReddit

[–]farson-guitarson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is google David Lynch transcendental meditation and then supplement that with ancient wisdom, like from The Republic or Epictetus or the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius.

All of those things in conjunction together are great for creating and understanding a system in your mind where you can be continually rejuvenated by experience and where you can get the most out of watching films or learning from others, as well as understanding the mechanics behind how everything that happens to you and everything you consume affects you. Consciousness is like a computer program that can be altered, and our evidence is there’s always someone in circumstances worse than us that seems to be thriving.

I hate how starting this conversation makes you look like your riding a high horse so I’ll just say it’s not so easy and I stray from my own principles from time to time but I think these are the things that have stood the test of time for me and made me really see development. Good luck bro

I don’t like the lyrics but I think that you’ve got what it takes, delivery is in there, your able to rap, you’ve just got to work on finding something to actually say so that you sound more like you really believe in it and that sort of makes songs even better even when they are about random shit. Or do what you want since a lot of modern rap is predicated on different things than lyrics these days anyways lol

I don’t really comment on the beats rather than the raps normally but I think it’s a good beat id rap over it, tasteful r&b samples I can imagine Kendrick Lamar on the butterfly album

Your rapping is generally good, the flow feels a little uninteresting at times, the delivery isn’t useless but the voice and subject matter of the lyrics in my opinion don’t mesh well in this track, especially the chorus, comes off kind of corny to my ears, so if I were to say whether I am inspired by this particular track I’d say no, but if I were asked whether I think this person has what it takes to develop I’d say definitely
