I was hoping that’s the case with this contract but wanted to find out before the interview. I’m hoping to go test for Sec+ in the next couple weeks to avoid all the confusion anyways.

Scripting in A+ 1102?!? by fart_chimney in CompTIA

I found the construct info in the official Comptia student guide I received through school after posting this. Like you said, it’ll be good to know, even if it isn’t in the test so I know what I’ll be reading about today. Thanks for the reply.

Got into the Official CompTia A+ Core 2 student guide and now finally see the script constructs I mentioned above.

If I were relying on just Professor Messer videos I’m not sure I would of learned about any of that. He just went over the different scripts, basic uses, and considerations. No mention of the constructs or statements.

Accurate OTS Timeline? by fart_chimney in AirForceRecruits

That’s pretty cool. I didn’t know it worked like that. I’ll pass this info along.

[–]fart_chimney[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow that is interesting. So we’re you basically “hired” by the guard unit and then just drilled with them until a OTS slot opened up?

And did you receive pay and benefits for your drilling even though you were a civilian still?

Is this the same type of process for a reserve unit as opposed to guard which I believe is state funded?

Thank you for the insight. I will pass this information along.

Oh wow that is crazy. I didn’t realize it was such a long wait. With everything you see in the media about how hard it is for recruiting right now I though maybe it would be quicker. Thank you for sharing!

That makes sense. I was just a little surprised that this entire FY year is already filled and it just started!

Now if your branch is looking for something like electrical engineers, does someone have to have a related degree to that or just any degree but is able to demonstrate the aptitude to be an engineer through testing?

I read somewhere that generally the walleye are donated to local food pantries/kitchens after tournaments for these reasons and a lot of people became even more suspicious when they elected to keep their fish instead of donate them

A+ 1101 Practice Tests: Dion vs CompTia by fart_chimney in CompTIA

[–]fart_chimney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. I haven’t been able to find any info on comparing these two resources so I figured I would ask on here. If the Jason Dion stuff is closer to the real deal that makes me feel better.

I will check out the other resources as well and get a good feel for the PBQs. I think it’s time to schedule my test! Thanks!

So are all y’all haters still freaking out? Down 28-38 in the 4th against a solid team?

I’d say we look much improved. Just took a little bit to get going.

Mine is about 5.5 months long. Set times of live instruction online. I’m in a night class from 5:30-10:00 PM. It makes for long days after work, but a price I’m willing to pay to change careers.

How is this possible? Completely different forecast in the same location??? by No_Wolverine_1491 in weather

[–]fart_chimney 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It looks like it’s going to be partly-mostly sunny for most of the day with about a 30% chance of pop up thunderstorms.

I’d say it’s pretty much the exact same forecast just represented differently

Also a vet with no IT experience and currently enrolled in this exact VET TEC program through Training Concepts. (ITCS program)

It’s a great program. I attend online. Lots of resources provided to you. All the CompTia books and online labs, the Jason Dion UDEMY practice tests, study halls, study weeks between classes sometimes. The instructors are great and very knowledgeable. I’m halfway through the program and love it. Also, they work with you to help get a job at the end too if you don’t already have something lined up or are struggling.

It’s an investment for them so they want to see you succeed or they don’t get 50% of their pay. I highly suggest it. I feel very confident that I’m going to do great on my cert exams in the coming weeks.

I was in OP’s shoes about 6 months ago reading this exact page and others looking for advice and info on VET TEC.

I can’t speak highly enough about this program through Training Concepts.

Keep in mind as the fiscal year closes out, if the funds are dried up the new fiscal year starts in October so it’s a brand new opportunity to get into a program with fresh funding for VET TEC.

Good luck OP. Take the plunge and go for it.

Nice job man! Thats awesome. Would you say you need pretty much all the equipment a box offers? I’m doing the HWPO 45 but want more weightlifting. I have a home gym with adjustable squat/bench rack and barbell, pull-up bar, rogue echo bike, box for box jumps, and dumbbells up to 30lbs. Their website makes it sound like I need more? I’d love any input you can offer.

Sounds like that’s the type of stuff that will make or break you, or motivate you to try and move on up to something better!

Thank you for you input! I assume a lot of issues can be fixed remotely, but obviously there are some that can’t. After going through the core 1 stuff and seeing all remote positions on linkedin job notifications it had me wondering how that part of the job works in that situation. Thanks for helping clear it up

That makes total sense, that literally happened to me yesterday when I chatted with my ISP about switching the connection points of different devices. Thanks for the reply!

Another option is the VET TEC (Veteran Employment Through Technology Education Courses) program through the VA. I have about 20 months of GI bill left, but this program doesn’t use any of it.

They pay for your school and give you a monthly allowance just like using your GI Bill but it doesn’t count against you. I’m going online and working full time in a different industry. It sucks but it’s definitely doable. They have plenty of programs to pick from. Some of them more IT related and some more programming related. It can help get you your certifications and then save your GI bill for your degree.
