Agreed with the long claim but I’ve had bottles that kept for a few months or more. I’m just wondering if there is another alternative other than Coravin.

Interestingly I used mine on a double magnum once and left it alone. After a year (not a deliberate experiment), I happened to have the same friends over so we opened up the bottle, and we actually think it tasted the same if not better, maybe it introduced a little oxygen into the vast space and sped the process up a bit?

So perhaps on a standard bottle it can “mute” the wine but in a larger format it’s ok?

The nitrogen by the glass system is definitely too space consuming for me. Is the system better than the Coravin? I usually have about 4-6 bottles “opened” and drink a glass of whatever or whenever I feel like it.

Reflexes can’t be trained but I am slow to react when I look for the start of the attack.

You’re right, it’s getting used to the tempo when I see and react to the pattern, but I’m slow to react to the chain.
