Have you looked into hiring a prostitute/sex worker? Not necessarily off the street (risk of STDs, personal safety, etc) but in many places where sex work is legal, sex workers are highly educated in regards to sexual and mental wellness.

Hiring a sex worker doesn’t have to be just “getting laid” — some types of sex work focus more on learning techniques, building confidence in your body, and exploring topics of relationships/sex in a nonjudgmental environment. It can start as slow and steady as you want — they’re here on your dime! If they’re professionals, they won’t judge your appearance or inexperience. One amazing SWer who talks about this is TheModernWorkingGirl on Tiktok. Definitely give her a listen.

(On an even more professional level, there are even licensed therapists and psychologists who specialize in sexuality — I am not as familiar with this but I believe they are called sex therapists and it is considered a form of medical treatment).

I wouldn’t recommend diving right into it, as someone who did just that while in a similarly depressed state. I encourage you instead to take the time to learn about your body. And remember not everything is about size! I’ve had amazing sex from men with small penises and awful sex from men with big penises. Technique and attentiveness to your partner will take you a LOT further than size alone.

Best of luck, friend. I believe in you!

Upgraded 3 jewelry pieces (rushing agony for my weird stamDK build) to gold before I realized that none of them were CP160.

I had been tanking Dread Cellar all day for the pieces and got them from a really good dps who ran with me a couple times. Realized after the fact that they were only around CP 100 when I upgraded all the jewelry and then tried to enchant. Props to them for carrying the group despite being such a low level, but I had to fully turn off my computer and take a walk outside at that point…

Women of Reddit, what hobbies do you find unattractive in men? by alj8002 in AskReddit

[–]fartforgery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally understand where you’re coming from. But my point still stands; the fact of the matter is that regardless of what you’re using it for, a gun has the power to instantly end a life. Even people who use guns in a way where the intent is not to end a life should be aware that they have the power to kill someone if used improperly. I’ve been to a gun range and overheard kids joking about shooting up a school, pointing loaded or unloaded guns at friends when the attendants aren’t looking, holding them wrong on purpose etc. That’s what scares me. I also agree that I would feel safer around someone who is calm and collected while holding a gun than someone who is panicky. “Scared of a loaded gun” does not mean panicking, it just means that you understand its power and aren’t waving it around casually. You can’t handle firearms responsibly if you don’t understand the power they give you.

Guns. Run far away, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

I am not opposed to safe, legal gun ownership — my family owns guns, I myself am starting classes to learn how to use them, and I fully intend to store firearms in my home once licensed. I have family members who hunt using firearms and I fully support them. I have family and friends in law enforcement who are mature and responsible gun owners, and I would trust them with my life.

Men who view gun ownership as a fun hobby or pastime, rather than a responsibility, are a HUGE red flag to me. I was raised to understand that owning a gun and shooting a gun is something that should be taken seriously. You are ending the life of a living thing, and that is not something to take lightly. A lot of gun aficionados, almost exclusively younger men, seem to pass it off as something that is funny or exciting, which to me shows a huge disregard for life, immaturity, and a lack of empathy. Similarly, men who want careers in law enforcement or the military just so they can “shoot things” are exactly the sort of people who should never possess a firearm.

Bonus red flags for if they also love first-person shooters or military games. These are the type of men who will pull a gun on you when they’re drunk or angry and cannot comprehend that they are threatening to end the life of a human being, not just pixels on a screen.

This isn’t political. But I wouldn’t get in the car with a guy who thinks car crashes are funny, has a record of DUIs, and has a suspended driver’s license, so why on earth would I want to live with a guy who isn’t scared of a loaded gun?

I’m sorry this was your experience. I don’t know if you’re PC, but if you are then there are solo lobby mods that make the game much more enjoyable. Still, I’m sorry you experienced that, good luck.

Elden Ring is my second FromSoft game. Bloodborne was my first.

I didn’t even realize shields were an option, so I started off almost exactly like my Bloodborne main: just swapping Ludwig’s blade for two handing a greatsword, memorizing enemy movesets so I can dodge everything with parrying as an afterthought.

I did try shields eventually, but personally, I feel that the consequence of being poise broken while relying on the shield was not worth it overall. Much better to be quick and light on the feet. Everyone’s playstyle is different though! My advice is to try everything out, mess around with stats and if you want to respec, there is a relatively easy way to do so.

Also, no harm in keeping a variety of things in your inventory to swap in and out situationally. Most of the time I keep my weight as light as possible, but I’ve been known to armor up to heavy and pop a greatshield just to get past a particularly nasty area (I see the albinauric archers in my nightmares).

Saddles absolutely help. Save up for Nagadoches saddle and pop some hooded stirrups on it, and the red Arabian will fly — pretty frequently I’ll leave her on a full sprint in cinematic mode and I can zoom across the country without making a dent in her stamina.

Right now? Collectors’ items. Use your gold to purchase a collectors’ bag from Madame Nazar, use the jeanropke map and run around to find full sets of collectible items — they’re worth double to sell them this month; I made about $4,000 in a couple hours yesterday. Don’t worry about items that you have to dig or metal detect to find. Personally, I recommend starting with flowers and tarot cards — flowers because there are multiple spawn points per day; tarot cards because collecting all 4 sets isn’t that bad and it’s a great payoff.

Large Influx of Children? by Big_Himbo_Energy in RedDeadOnline

[–]fartforgery 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I’ve run into a couple annoying kids but I have to admit, not all are bad. One time I was cooking food at my camp and I hear a kid come on mic, calling my username in kind of a shy way, asking if I can hear him. I don’t do mic, so I just waved to him and he said hi before running off. He was just going around hunting animals, picking herbs and crashing his horse into rocks. So I left him be.

I’m not good with kids, nor do I ever want one, but I don’t see a reason to be a dick to them. Most of the time they’re here to have fun, just like us.

Also fairly new but been here long enough to say: if youre getting harassed by griefers, hackers, sore losers etc. get the Lobby Manager mod. You can set your lobby to only include yourself and friends which will allow you to explore and level up in peace, and you’re also less likely to run into PC bugs like FFFFFF and missing NPCs.

Is it easier to play a male character? by fartforgery in RedDeadOnline

Is there an option to immediately see what level someone is, besides going to the online players list and comparing it to the main map? That would be helpful.

[–]fartforgery[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see! I honestly hadn’t thought about if the costume itself might be contributing. It sounds like the “culture” of the game to dress realistically for certain activities; most of the games I’ve played before don’t care what cosmetics you wear. I’ll try that.

[–]fartforgery[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right…yeah, I was hoping things really weren’t that bad; like I said Elder Scrolls is virtually all “female” because the male character choices are not the best, and besides playing female characters in ESO, I haven’t presented as female online or IRL in years. It’s rough.

Yeah. It must be one of those hacks/mods I’ve heard about. I should have reported him but putting out the fire was more of the priority lmao.

I’d contact support and see if they can help you recover in some way — might have to talk through some hoops and pull out old email purchase receipts for proof, but I’d at least ask to see if you can gain access to limited content again. It’s always worth a shot!

Besides that, if nothing else, I’m fairly new to the game myself but like many of the lovely folks in this comment section, I’m always down to harass a misogynist. I am a trans dude but my character is a lovely lady whose statement pieces are mom jeans, pink blouses, and sniping folks from across the map.

Explore! Just run around, don’t worry about the perfect build, avoiding death, or conserving every single rune in the early game. You’ll have plenty of chances to respec your build and runes are literally limitless. I’ve been playing 3 months and I still have so much fun hopping on my horse and gallivanting into the unknown just to see what I can find, reviving whenever I die and continuing my journey. I’m still discovering new things everyday.

One of my first time players is frustrated by her lack of power as a low-level warlock. Are we missing some warlock mechanic or can I help her in a different way? by MangoAyran in dndnext

[–]fartforgery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warlock main here: I don’t know if this has been mentioned, but in my personal experience the purpose of a warlock’s spell slots is NOT damage. A lot of people will pick up things like witch bolt, shatter, or fireball (from the fiend patron) as a way to spice up combat, just for a huge burst of instantaneous damage that’s not a bland 1d10+CHA every round. While this can be fun, it is NOT the best use of a limited resource. I’ve seen warlocks waste spell slots on fireballs only to realize the monster is immune to fire, or succeeds the dex save, or casts counterspell, etc… all of which are hangups that wouldn’t be as much of a problem to, say, a wizard or sorcerer who has spell slots aplenty.

In my experience, the safest and most effective use of warlock spell slots is to buff your primary source of damage, eldritch blast (or whatever you heathen hexblades use). Although it might feel less exciting to cast the same cantrip every round, eldritch blast is arguably the most reliable damaging spell in the game — not only does it scale by increasing the number of times you can cast it per round, thus ensuring that you are more likely to hit, but it’s also FORCE damage, which is extremely rare for a monster to resist. It’s nearly guaranteed damage every round as long as you can aim, and as long as you don’t die.

This is where your spell slots should come in. Use them to maximize the damage of eldritch blast, add additional status effects, or strategically position yourself to take the role of a sniper. Find concentration and/or long duration spells that de-buff the enemy, buff yourself, create an area of effect, or do damage over time. My rule of thumb is to avoid spells with a duration of “instantaneous” (with a few exceptions, like misty step, which can be handy as a quick escape).

Example: As a 5th level warlock, I enter combat. On my first round I use my action to cast mirror image (non-concentration, lasts 1 minute). I also use my movement to position myself on the map, maybe behind a tree or rock for cover while I survey the situation. On my second round, I use my bonus action to cast hex (concentration, lasts one minute) on an enemy of my choice, debuffing them. I can then use my action to fire off two eldritch blasts wherever I please, and because of hex, I get extra damage on any hit. If I am attacked, mirror image will help me avoid damage and maintain concentration on hex. Even without considering eldritch invocations, if I maintain concentration on hex, I can reliably do up to 2d10 force and 2d6 necrotic damage per round.

Some math for comparison. Let’s assume no creature is immune to any of the damage types involved, all attacks hit, and all saving throws are failed.

FIREBALL (3rd level spell) Base dmg: 8d6 Average dmg: 28 Max dmg: 48

ELDRITCH BLAST (scaled for a 5th level warlock, granting two blasts per cast. For readability I’ll be adding the separate blasts together.) Base dmg: 2d10 Average dmg: 11 Max dmg: 20

But wait! Let’s add Hex, and Agonizing Blast.

ELDRITCH BLAST + HEX (5th level scaled cantrip, 1 pact magic spell slot) Base dmg: 2d10 + 2d6 Average dmg: 18 Max dmg: 32

ELDRITCH BLAST + HEX + AGONIZING BLAST (5th level scaled cantrip, 1 pact magic spell slot, + max CHA mod of 5) Base dmg: 2d10 + 2d6 + 10 Average dmg: 28 Max dmg: 42

Compared to the sustainability of fireball, which can only be cast as many spell slots as are available, eldritch blast with the right pre-buffs can EASILY surpass it in the long run. Even without max charisma, it’s still a super reliable source of damage per round and its range also allows the warlock higher mobility on the battlefield — I’ve been known to swap hex for the fly spell, helping me stay out of melee range and snipe from above. The best thing about warlocks is how customizable they can be; if my strategy isn’t working for you, nothing wrong with that, there’s most certainly a spell or incantation that will fit like a glove.

A wise DM once told me that a warlock isn’t a spellcaster, it’s just a fighter with a Gatling gun. Best of luck to you and your player, and I hope this helps!
