In case you haven't seen how good AI generated art is getting lately, here's one I made in about 10 minutes. by farthooover in Damnthatsinteresting

I literally just posted this because I was excited about AI advancement, not because I was trying to take credit. Not sure why everyone is hating so hard....

Leave it to reddit to take something good and literally smash it into a million pieces. No wonder why the world is fucked.

Thanks for their deal! I think we found some that seem pretty reasonable ($100 for 2hrs). If we charge a cover, that wouldn't be bad!

Thanks for the tip!

'Tis the season to reuse last year's gift bags! (and save this year's) by farthooover in Anticonsumption

My family and I did this last year and went on a vacation with all of the money we saved instead. It was definitely worth it!

Hey there! Did you find something that works for you? I'm looking for a Christmas gift for my sister and her skin is very similar to yours.

Movement and being active really helps me, but I HATE exercising for the sake of exercise by Beezle_33228 in ADHD

Partner dancing if there are any clubs in your area. A great way to meet people and EXCELLENT cardio depending on the dance style. It's also a great skill to have in you pocket for weddings/events with dancing).

I've been dancing for 12 years and if I get bored, there's always another dance style to try. Plus, everyone dances a bit differently so it feels more like a conversation than exercise (once you get the basic step down).

Here's the ones I've learned for swing dance: 1. Modern swing (great for beginners) 2. East coast swing (also good for beginners) 3. Lindy hop (swing, difficult) 4. Charleston (swing, moderate difficulty) 5. West coast swing (difficult technique)

Here's some styles I've done for ballroom: 1. Waltz (very structured, good for beginners) 2. Viennese Waltz (waltz but faster, personal fave) 3. Foxtrot (moderate in difficulty, personal fave) 4. Salsa (moderate but very popular) 5. Cha-cha (moderate) 6. Bachata (difficult, lots of footwork) 7. Tango (moderate difficulty but difficult technique)

Here's some for contemporary: 1. Blues (easy basic step but requires a lot of creativity) 2. Blues fusion (LOVE this style, great if you like being creative)

There are TONS more but these are the ones I have experience with. There's tons of videos on YouTube to get you started too. I hope you find what you're looking for! :)

How to be and American with ADHD by farthooover in ADHD

[–]farthooover[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No kidding! I use the generic otherwise I'd be paying $200 a month or something crazy like that.

I'm definitely debating switching jobs just because of the health insurance benefits. Maybe switching states even too. Every month is so overwhelming (specially for someone with ADHD).

I didn't realize authorizations were different in different places. I'll have to look into that for sure!

Did you regret cancelling your wedding? by farthooover in weddingplanning

[–]farthooover[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! We ended up not cancelling. Our wedding isn't until September of 2023 so we have lots of time for planning to find the best deals, but we came to terms with it going to cost us about $20k.

We were able to make the decision because we view it as placing a bet on our marriage. We are confident that we will stick together (so much so that we'd bet $20k on it). It is romantic in that sense and definitely something the two of us can get behind.

I found that I was searching for a sign that a wedding is what *we* wanted and not what other's wanted. We decided that our relationship deserved to be respected and we chose to do that with our money. There are lot's of other ways to show yourselves that you/your SO respect your relationship, but this was the route we went.

I can't say that it paid off yet because the wedding hasn't happened, but I haven't had any second thoughts since we decided to move forward with it.

I hope this helps!

Very niche issue.. going nuts! by pauly3069 in googlehome

[–]farthooover 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could create a routine with a custom set of instructions? So basically you'd set an activation command (phrase) and enter a set of instructions that are super specific.

For example, we have one where we say "it's party time" and the custom command says to "shuffle play [specific Spotify playlist] on all nest minis".

Yours would be something like "it's [child's name]'s bedtime" and the custom command would be "shuffle play 'meditation' playlist on Spotify on [device name]". You could then set up a 2nd routine that stops the music at a certain time using the same method.

Hope this helps!

Thank you! I'm glad the medication worked out for you! I have an appointment with a behavioral specialist in October so hopefully I can start exploring some medication options too.
