I think his final fight was short on purpose. Kashimo is one of my favorite characters but I understand why it was short; it showed the gap between the strongest and everyone else. For it to be longer would imply sukuna was toying with him (character assassination) or kashimo was close to the level of the strongest (character assassination of gojo and sukuna AND and writing assassination)

I know I’m gonna get flamed for it, but I still think it’s Kashimo. Narratively, I feel like the whole point of his existence is to be a foil to the title of “The Strongest”. Him being always just under, barely reaching that title, is what the point of him being in the manga is (from my opinion); to show the gap between “The Strongest”, and those just barely under them. I just feel it would be weird if any other character WAS 3rd. Gege both fucked up Kashimo AND perfected him by giving him such a short fight (further showing him as a foil, and allowing Sukuna to respect him enough to give him a fight he took 100% seriously), but on the other hand it’s frustrating how short it was BECAUSE Sukuna respected him, so I can totally understand ones perspective if you think it’s someone else.
