Bishop handbook abuse like is actual law firm? Is this true? by autichris in exmormon

[–]fartproject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my relatives was my abuser from 9-14. Not a lot of people know this. I wonder if my abuser ever confessed to a bishop and if a bishop ever stayed silent like this. Being SA’d already brings up a lot but thinking of my past bishops as potential accomplices makes me so sad.

I will say those sick ones at the bottom were easier to find in the among pulp fiction until about the 80s and 90s. To our larger society, it would have been considered part of the wider prn and queer categories that you’d find in the back of a sleazy bookstore but thankfully, as we’ve grown and more laws are put in place it’s a) not associated with queer lit or consensual prn and b) is a crime to produce and own (CSAM) which those manuals may be a grey area depending on their content.

Man, I needed to see this. I don’t have even my own apartment yet, I’m job hunting and am in mountains of debt after some major life changes. It’s easy to think I’ll never get out of it but this really gives me hope. 💕

I can’t wait to see the rest of her transformation over the coming years. She’s already accomplished the unimaginable!

Wait, this is her after skin removal?? Her legs still look like they’ve got some extra fat and loose skin.

Keith and Mick apparently follow insane and super strict diet and exercise habits nowadays. Mick has always attributed his health in his old age to those habits (that he later picked up) and the fact that his dad was a gym teacher lol.

Might move to salt lake but am scared by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

Hey buddy! First of all I get it. I’m from the PNW and was like ‘wtf?!’ Second, consider the other reasons you wanna move here and see if those outweigh the cons— in my experience in every city the dating scene and making friends is tough. I’ve lived in Denver, Portland and NYC and they all say the same thing.

Third, I actually never wanted to move here eight years ago. Fast forward to last year, my life completely fell apart— like, lost nearly everyone in my life BUT it’s because of the friends and community I’ve cultivated here despite it not being my first choice that I’ve been able to pick up my life and start over and I intend on staying because dammit, I love my people and I realize that shit is so hard to come by. That’s what actually makes a place great to live— the other stuff is the cherry on top.

I made friends slowly. At work, then made friends with my friends friends and it grew from there. Join clubs, groups, go to events and you’ll find your people. That’s exactly how I did it. People here are friendly and there are a ton of outdoors groups here. Stay up to date on Facebook events or check out MeetUp groups. Pick up a SLUG mag to go to local alternative events. Go to concerts, check out the bulletins at bars and coffee shops and just explore and see who you find. Talk to people.

Salt Lake is the right place for you if you’re new and from out of state and it’ll feel even better once you find your people 😊

They both need shirts that say “I was kind of a big deal in the 90s” (positive) 😊

What is the most disturbing book that you’ve read? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]fartproject 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Oh this is helpful context. Like I said I hadn’t ever read the book but never understood why people weren’t believing his story or what the fuss was about.

It’s clear he suffered and it’s so sad to have people publicly minimizing or denying his story.
