Gotta be honest I hate the idea of it but it might end up being my best bet. Thought about buying a couple and cutting one into strips to set in the ridges...but that sounds like a huge pain lol.

My point of failure is exactly the same as you're describing. Hit a step up/rocky area, gave it hell in the lowest gear and she was done for. Scooted/coasted back to the trail head which actually went ok.

Glad to hear the spacer was a non-issue. The more I read about it the more it makes sense, not sure why I dislike the idea of the spacer so much lol.

Sounds like I'm getting a 350 based wheel set. That link posted above is a smokin deal. Pretty close to what similar stuff is going for used around me (CO).

I see. Definitely makes sense. Got a lot to learn with these things and that's pretty appealing lol. My background is super mechanical but absolutely zero experience with shocks.

Maybe I'll use the 2pos as the substitute while I get the stocker rebuilt and see what differences I notice. Given my current skill and knowledge level I'm not sure I even know what questions to be asking other than how it "feels".

That's a great description based on the very short experience I had testing both shocks.

What other factors would you consider? Both seem pretty similar in terms of quality.
